I do too. Sometimes the Altai persona writes perfect English and other times, broken English. Sometimes there is a more mellow Altai here but most times it's a condescending, self-righteous spambot who somehow does not have to provide links to anything it spouts. I sometimes wonder if it is recruiting anyone here to it's Islamic extremist cause. Hope not.

I agree it's complicated. What makes it complicating is that some people believe religious rights trump human rights, women's rights and society's rights. I believe women having to cover up at all times is harmful to society. It's a harmful view of women that damages both men and women. It damages boys who grow up believing this is how women are to be treated, even in Canada. It damages girls who grow up seeing women being treated this way. There is nothing good about this belief. I dont' agree that religious rights trump all other rights. Islam is at the forefront of convincing everyone that religious beliefs are to be honored before any other rights. We are going backwards.

If misogyny is part of your religion, practice it at home if you wish. The rest of society doesn't need to see your women being denigrated.

Demonizing any platform that seeks to LESSEN immigration in any way, is the new tactic by globalists who want to knock down borders and sovereignty! Trudeau, and the other socialist-leaning parties are blue-blooded globalists! They have too, all the mainstream Canadian media on their side - some, most likely even in their pocket! Sadly, majority of Canadians have been brainwashed and "programmed" - thanks largely to our media - and had lost the capability to think practically - heck, they don't think for themselves anymore! Common sense, is alien to them! True conservatism is dead in Canada. The only chance of its revival would be for Canada to really hit rock bottom - not unlike Venezuela! "Flooding" rich and once powerful western nations, is a way to weaken them! Just look at European nations!

The PPC ran a candidate in every riding just months after starting to organize, and got 270,000 votes. Reform didn't get that many votes its first election. The Greens needed EIGHT elections to garner that much support. The PPC have 40,000 members and will now have time to properly organize so they can vet future candidates and develop the kind of an organization they lacked this time around. Furthermore, the reason why the Left hates them so much, their desire to cut immigration and implement value tests on immigrants, remain widely popular. The smug cheering from the Left about how it's all over is more than slightly premature.

Bernier is a hot-tempered fool, but he isn't a cuck like Scheer. If Scheer had Bernier's balls and convictions the CPC probably would have done better.

Had no lasting impact, he did nothing to reshape the country, he changed nothing, he moved nothing to the right, soon the Liberals were back driving things to the far left again.

The PPC was a vanity project by Maxime. How is the CPC selling out? If you go back and look at Mulroney's party and its policies, you'll see that they were actually closer to the centre than the current CPC party. They actually took steps to protect and conserve the environment. Mulroney led the way in the world with policies to heal the ozone layer, from damage caused by aerosol sprays and coolants. The fear being displayed by some conservatives right now has nothing to do with changes in the policies of the CPC, because their policies have not changed much. Those who are mad at the CPC are mad because the party refuses to pull a suicidal act, like Bernier did, to appease a loud minority, by denouncing immigration and immigrants.
