Trudeau's most admired country, China, and its 'basic dictatorship', have certainly been a disappointment for him. He was snubbed when he traveled there in hopes of opening negotiations on a trade agreement and now he seems resistant to becoming overtly involved in fighting for the freedom of Canadian citizens jailed by the Chinese, likely in retaliation for the Meng extradition arrest. Reportedly, Trudeau did speak about the issue today, days after it became a matter of public concern but didn't seem to say much to reassure anyone a solution is forthcoming. Perhaps it's time that Trudeau admit his China strategy has failed and move on. But he doesn't seem the reflective type. Canada will get nowhere with China via bilateral negotiations. It will have to work closely with other Western countries to set new ground rules to govern the relationship between China and the rest of developed world. The spat over Meng is a sign of a larger problem and illustrates the basic reality that China, probably accurately, views Canada as an American client state, a circumstance that's unlikely to change. The world has changed a lot since Trudeau Sr.'s "North-South" initiative. JT doesn't have the gravitas to be taken seriously on such matters and in any case Canada is now a less influential country than it was in PET's day.2 points

It's fascinating watching so many right-wingers wake up from their comas. It's too little too late though, the damage is pretty much irreversible now1 point

If you would have checked who and what I was replying to - you would have seen that it was completely on point. As for your comments: 2) Let's put aside your fondness for China for now. You obviously have confused Social Democracy with Socialism. The Scandinavian countries are good examples - free markets with very little government owned enterprises with lots of social support systems - not unlike Canada. Pure (poor choice of words) Socialism is where the government has all the answers - and owns all the factories and businesses - like East Germany did. I use East Germany as an example because it evolved right beside West Germany and juxtaposed Socialism against a Democracy - same people, same culture, same values - but a completely different outcome. European countries are not "Socialist countries" - they are Social Democracies. Be concerned if any government starts ideologically nationalizing companies. 1) They might teach about the fall of the USSR - but not the dangers of the creeping encroachment of Big Brother as industries are nationalized and government incrementally starts to control every aspect of one's life. North Korea is a present day example, as was the USSR of course. China is making small steps to unwind SOME of the state control but that's in it's infancy and it's basically the Wild West in some ways. It's important that kids understand the difference. A path to that government-controlled Socialism is one that leads to the lowest common denominator - and ultimately to that police state - that you see in China. Tianemnan Square wasn't THAT long ago. Call good government anything you want - but the French may have said it best - Liberty, Equality, Fraternity.......1 point

Let's set the record straight a bit: First of all, there is no such thing as a functioning economy or society that does NOT have some social policies that one could easily consider "socialistic". Sick care and social welfare being at the very top of those lists. I would really like to hear/read the official Canadian public education position on the FSU. I don't doubt they teach THAT it failed, I would just like to know if and what they teach about WHY it failed. Similarly for China. Yes, the CPC currently rules there, but one's history knowledge would be very inaccurate if it did not specifically teach that the Great Leap Forward was a failure in policy and administration that resulted in the death of as many as one hundred million Chinese - I believe the greatest single human tragedy in the history of the world - conveniently ignored by the CPC and left of the West. If there was any such thing as accurate portrayal of the facts, Current Events classes would point out that the suffering and economic collapse of Venezuela is 100% the result of prosecution of a Bolivarian socialist strategy and policy for that country. Also worth noting that anything that even vaguely close to the reasons that China is doing so well is the fact that it's Communist government has seized (and manipulated mercilessly) the capitalistic policies of the developed world and has been permitted to exploit the open markets of said capitalist economies. How does that related to Islam in Hogtown? I think you need to distinguish very clearly between Liberal thought and liberal thought. The latter is pretty much middle of the road Canadian. Liberal thought seems to require complete disregard for anything that resembles the truth or reason. Accommodating Islam is one thing, but putting on some kind of pedestal as a thing beyond criticism by mere mortal infidels is the kind of idiocy that comes from the immigration policies that invite ideologies that are in no way compatible with what WAS once Canada's tolerance and drives otherwise reasonable people into a polarized opposition to what THEY (i.e. WE) can clearly see is a HUGE mistake for our country.1 point

It is very easy to blame the ultimate demise of Western democracies on socialistic policies and parties, but reality is the giant elephant in the room comes from what is assumed to be the political "right". Remember the 1% movement that got squashed in the US due to lack of anybody knowing or caring WTF was wrong? The incredible inequity of wealth distribution is a symptom of where capitalism has split into two components of use of money - actual capitalism whereby money is used to add value to resources, CREATING wealth from productive endeavour and Casino Capitalism doing nothing more than re-distributing wealth in an endless volley of speculative transactions that sees debt instruments, equities, synthetic instruments and entire companies traded in an upward inflationary spiral. The latter is the playground of the globalist community (and others in finance) where investment is handled by institutions that end up with massive blocks of stock without actually earning it, and who then appoint boards of their own ilk who in turn hire finance friendly management that they corrupt with unbelievable compensation packages. CEOs in sane times might have earned 10x other employees, but in today's business world, they are give each other massive blocks of stock from nothing more than showing up for work. When you see execs in the tens and hundreds of millions a year, and occasionally BILLION$$!! you SHOULD know that something is really, really wrong. The 1% movement could sense it, but not understand it. THIS is what fuels the socialist agenda: you can no longer get your share by working, so just tax the rich and give it to them from government - many of whom today actually DID simply rob their shareholders of the bux. Until we understand this fundamental problem, we are doomed to keep running around in the same circle while the banksters continue to rob the world blind.1 point

Pinochet? Really? Pinochet? Lol. Oh come on comrade. What is the difference between Pinochet and Putin? Is that like a trick question? Lol. You really think I supported Pinochet? Lol. So let me get this straight( or gay please I don't discriminate) ..because I am not a trendy left wing puke artist... I supported Pinochet? Lol. No I have no picture of Maggie Thatcher in my boudoir either. Golda Meir yes and in a bikini. You should see her tattoos. I also have one of Tippi Levni. Go find out who she was. I do have one of Shania Twain. I am like the CBC... I do have some Canadian content. Now getting back to Russia, and I mean Russia... not the Soviet Union, Karl Marx, Dialectics, its a pisshole. That is spelled PISSHOLE. It has no economy other than a black market run by a mob of psychopaths. They put the stooge Putin in as their government hitman-enforcer. He was bred for the job. He kills without remorse. He first started for the Stasny in East Germany killing people there, then moved on to Mayor of St. Petersburg soon to be Putingrad where he rose to power killing people and assuring the mob could run the city without harassment. He has had thousands murdered who oppose him. He thinks nothing of murdering people in other nations. It is why he gave such a warm shake to his fellow murderer in Saudi Arabia for world cameras to see. He runs a shithole. His people are miserable. They have chronic rates of alcoholism and their infrastructure is in ruins while the revenue he does get from a locked in oil deal with China is spent on his military that can not properly feed itself or engage in logistics. His country has the largest amount of natural resources and fresh water in the world neither being exported as the mob has no idea how to do that. The oil deal they locked themselves into with China sells their oil at far below the price they could have received had they exported the oil to Europe but hey the mob did not want to share with the West. With China the kickback when dealing with just one corporation (the Chinese Communist Party) is far easier than dealing with all the oil conglamorates. His air force is full of pilots who are good but do no trust the jets they fly due to improper maintenance on the ground by some of the worst air mechanics in the world. His navy? Great on paper. Problem is they barely feed their sailors or soldiers. Logistics man, its a bummer dude when you want to feed your boys and you have no money to do that. Russia's national sport. Other than taking steroids, its drinking vodka. . It has chronic rates of prostitution and pedophilia. Foreigners visit, screw Russia's young women and children with full government awareness as they tap all the hotels and Putin's boys get compromising photos of them like they did with Trump. You have to be an idiot to bed a Russian escort in Moscow. Russia has rampant rates of aids, sexually transmitted diseases, depressive illness, tuberculosis, pneumonia, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, liver and kidney disease all from alcohol related illnesses and go look at how many people are in jail for political crimes. Its press is a joke. Say anything even remotely critical of Putin you get a visit and if you don't stop, you vanish. Russia? Its been the site of countless corrupt, chauvinistic dictators called Czars then Commies. It always has had a tradition of chauvinism no different than the US. It can't go a year without invading and conquering someone. It has never been democratic and never will. Its culture is one of psycho dictators. So why beat around the bush (no wait he died) about it. I support the young students of Russia who want a democracy not Putin and his mob stooges or the trolls or kids that show up on political forums chirping about how great Russia is. Its a large herpes sore. Putin and Trump are one dysfunctional chunk of manure trying to run the world. Putin through his dirt on Trump has him flapping about doing Putin's bidding. First it was staying quiet about the invasion in Crimea and Russia's continued support of Assad, now its the pullout from Syria. You think now that Mad Dog Matthis has left, Trump is long for this world. Matthis was his sole link to the US Armed Forces keeping him in power as a default to the old Obama and Bush regimes which continually ignored the US Armed Forces head officers on certain foreign initiatives. Pulling out of Syria sealed Trumps' fate. Not even he will survive that decision. Putin played his last hand. By calling in his blackmail on Trump to get him to pull out of Syria, that is a sure sign Putin thinks Trump is on his way out so Putin is cashing in his Trump card before its too late. ISIS is not dead. It has splintered into cells all across Syria and there are thousands of suspects arrested in Europe of having ISIS connections soon to be released from jail. They will escalate their war in Syria when the US pulls out. Because the US pulls out, the Kurds, the no.1 force fighting ISIS and Assad will be forced to pull out as it leaves Erdogan free to attack the Kurds in Syria and elsewhere. Erdogan is in bed with Putin now. Putin has given him the greenlight to attack Kurds in Syria in return for not fighting Assad. Iran supports Assad and hates the Kurds, so it is happy to have its proxy army carry on wiping out both Kurds and ISIS and it will escalate without the US presence. This will force Israel to be more active inside Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, with Hezbollah, Isis, Al Quaeda that is openly financed and supported by Turkey. Russia for now has a carte blanche to operate as it does in the Middle East. Israel has a very precarious relationship with Russia but has shot down Russian missiles and a fighter or two straying into Israel. Its tense. Trump has not helped it at all. Without a US counter presence to Russia on the world stage, Putin does what he wants and that suits China just fine as they own him. Russia is a captive poverty state of Putin and the mob.1 point

Do you really think a nation with 40 million is going to lead the world? What you think Canada is Israel? Ahahahahahah. You asked for that. On a serious note get with the picture. The US is the largest of NATO countries and has always insisted in leading it. If you are saying the US should withdraw from NATO and ally with Russia (say haven't they done that) and carry on as the dupe I mean ally of Russia, do let me know. I am preparing a coups with Mad Dog et al. Seriously that whiny oh woe is me why is it always the US that must lead goes with placing your best financial interests all over the world that require allied governments to protect them. Awaa awaa awaa. You hear me crying about Justin? No I take it like a real "man". I go in my bathroom and vomit quietly. Ok sometimes its projectile depending on what he has done.1 point

They poll who they know will give them the answers they want.they also doctor the question to pigeonhole respondants. Try answering none of the above. They don't know what to do with yur ansr so they say undecided. Then say the results are such and such 19 times out of twenty. To me that says your published results are nowhere near accurate and not worth the powder to blow them to hell1 point

Anyone in Canada who wants to damage our economy to work for climate changes is a moron. Pure and simple. End of story. China's increase THIS YEAR, just the increase, will be greater than the entirety of what Trudeau hopes to cut with his carbon pricing efforts (which will take decades). And that's just China. Add in the extra CO2 India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Egypt, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and all the other developing countries are pumping out and it's lunacy to fork out billions on lowering our already low CO2 emissions. The Paris accord and other such agreements fail because they are largely designed by socialist minded people more concerned with fairness and social justice, as well as income redistribution, than with the environment. That is why countries like Canada and the US and UK are expected to heavily cut their emissions, at whatever cost, while developing countries have a free hand to increase theres as much as they want "Oh, well, it wouldn't be fair, now. I mean, they have some catching up to do, you know. We can't be holding them to account for lowering CO2 emissions, and by the way, we need to give them hundreds of billions to help them adjust." China's emissions are already greater than that of the US and EU combined, but it's free to keep increasing them as much as they want for decades. What crap. All this does is move manufacturing from the US and EU (and Canada now) to places like China and India.1 point

I'm part of a secret liberal 'culture target' demolition crew. We are actually the ones who started 'Happy Holidays' and got Soros to fund the Starbucks cup that removed baby Jesus from the manger. Next phase of the plan is to have people wishing each other 'Happy Sojourn', to have government mandate flexible stat holidays, to work with PETA to emphasize the donkey and other manger animals, and to promote a non-materialistic holiday with fewer presents. We will also merge with Hannukah. I am so confident in the mainstream media's hold on the public that I can publicize our plan here in the full knowledge that it will get zero coverage.1 point

Schools and Universities don't teach the proven, historical (and current) failures of socialism - and the death and misery that comes from its policies. Socialism inevitably leads to a police state, because people who don't play along or compete with the state system must be stopped - one way or another. Socialism is like a giant monopoly, with barriers to entry "licenses", special permits, grants, subsidization, trade restrictions, quotas, tariffs. Even technology and innovation become the enemy. Socialism - even in its milder "transitional" form, blunts the natural human tendencies to explore - to be the best that one can be - to be more than people expect you to be. Most millennials can't relate to the significance of the Berlin Wall. Germans - one of History's most industrious, proud people - could not make Socialism work and became nothing short of an enslaved state with its people locked in by force. The Leftist "Humanities" professors who have infested and infected Universities continue to "normalize" a romantic version of Socialist Utopia. Instead, they should be teaching the realities of Socialism's history - and the need to feed the human soul with aspirations.1 point

To hell with it if it --- appears --- to be racist. Call it as it is. If green people are massively killing blue people then say so and report it as so. This is political correctness and multiculturalism and diversity madness in action. This country is being destroyed by the lack of truth being reported to we the people by our left wing liberals and their liberal media. The liberal have no establishment have no problem talking about some black person winning an award for being a nice person but yet if they do anything bad well just ignore it for racist sake. Enough already and this bs nonsense. Works for me.1 point
