  1. That is the point, we produce enough idiots without bringing more in. I wish people would wake up and quit coming out with excuses for these people. We are not bringing in people that will become canadian ,but people that leave one shitty country and come here and expect to live like they did where they came from. Leave the baggage at home or stay home.

  2. I've been curious about it, too. I wonder if my experiences have mostly been with NEWER immigrants, the town I was in had a high Muslim population and my neighborhood was where a lot of them settled. Or perhaps they were mostly from countries where there has been NO progress in the areas of human/women's rights. I dont' know if it's culture or the religion or a combination of both. But I do know, to a person, they treated Westerners with absolute and utter contempt. I don't think there was one who would've peed on me if I was on fire. Others had similar experiences where I lived. My freind, a female warehouse manager, was introduced to a new employee, a Muslim man, who refused to look at her, shake her hand or acknowledge her when she spoke. She worried that if there was ever an accident in the warehouse, this man would not help her in any way. This is the issue I have with Trudeau - he is not the one who has to live with these attitudes and deal with them every day. His wife will never screamed at, slapped or assaulted. He is not the one who has to live with such backwardness and just plain inhumane-ness. (Is that a word, or did I just invent it? Ha!) I don't believe that they will adapt to life in Canada with attitudes such as this, or with do-gooders refusing to challenge them and just "going along" with them in the name of tolerance. But this is why I believe your estimates of it only being a TINY minority with these attitudes is waaaay off.

  3. I didn't say entirely. But JT has been appointing far too many people to high positions based entirely on their skin color, ethnicity, and ovaries. The decision on who should be let into Canada should be made by an unbiased person who has nothing but Canada's interests at heart, not a person who might have a conflict because members of his 'people' are still trying to get into Canada. I would suggest no one with dual citizenship should be considered for the boards.

  6. Vault 7 It's not like we weren't warned this would happen. I suppose we can take some comfort in the likelihood that most of the effort governments put into this is mostly directed at other governments instead of ordinary people but all the same, the paranoia must run awfully deep amongst extra-ordinary people. It's hard to imagine governments are that afraid of us but...even Kim Jong il looks normal these days.

  9. 1 and 3 are not at all the same. 3 is a positive belief in something with no evidence. 1 is a reasonable assumption based on the absence of evidence and the knowledge that gods are something that humans thought up. Its not difference than saying there is no Santa Clause. Its not completely impossible that Santa Clause, his reindeer, and his elves really DO exist somewhere in the universe. But since we know we made up that story, believing that he does not exist is quite reasonable. Believing in a vast supernatural construct without a shred of evidence is completely different.

  12. I would hope this goes both ways. Because I've been screamed at, shouted at, slapped, assaulted (Yes, it went to court), lied to and treated as a sub-human by Muslim immigrants because I am a white woman. I watched in horror as a group of them attacked an Israeli girl on lline, outlining all the barbaric ways they wanted her and her family to die. To a person, every one of the Muslims I have met and interacted with have been angry, unhappy, violent - both verbally and physically. Edit to add: I really never gave much thought to Muslims until I lived amongst them and had to figure out WTF is wrong with these people?

  14. Again, you're free to support Islam on its drive to world domination. Step one is: criminalize any criticism of Islam by kuffars. This play is at bat right now...you can do your part for Islam by supporting M103.

  16. I would suggest that any and all natural-born Europeans are welcome in Canada right now. If not for their ability to integrate, for their own safety and for the good of our economy. Importing immigrants that can't speak English and have limited labour skills is pointless. That's what temporary visas are for, The Liberals have been turning out the old immigration infrastructure since they got in. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/edmonton/vegreville-immigration-federal-government-edmonton-jobs-1.3826058

  18. They also have blue lines and spots of all shapes sizes and colours - a veritable dog's breakfast of different hues. Really makes you wonder why the heck the term coloured didn't apply to them. Ever notice how many try to make themselves brown all over? What's with that?

  23. It used to be common to leave kids in cars, windows down in summer, motors and heaters on in winter (the latter not for long usually). Kids used to be able to roam the streets alone, even after dark sometimes. But as news of kidnappings spread, people became fearful. I remember reading articles about how the chances of any particular kid going missing were very small, but still fear of the unlikely has gradually reduced kid's freedoms to almost nothing. Kids are still kidnapped at about the same rate, so all the extra care and lack of freedom didn't help. There is now evidence that kids can suffer psychological damage because they have so little opportunity to explore and learn the world on their own. Terrorism and fear of it (and Muslims) seems to be growing and with that our freedoms are gradually decreasing, whether imposed by our own fear or a government that wants to increase their control over their citizenry. Its a tragedy when a kid is kidnapped or otherwise harmed when out of their parents' direct sight. Its a tragedy when people are killed in a terrorist attack. Its also a tragedy when an entire generation of kids can't play outside after school or on weekends, when people won't explore their world and when nations close their borders because of the fear that the most unlikely event will actually happen.

  30. Yup, we are. People are afraid because of terrorism, so they don't travel to places where they believe terrorism may occur (or if they do, they stay in their hotel room). This is a real fear they experience, although not really rational. Yes, this affects the economy of the country due to reduced tourism. "I've lived through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened" --- attributed to Mark Twain.

  32. It's quite sad that you say that. Statements like that make it obvious people are living in a bubble in this country with their fingers in the ears. Start reading about what life is like for aboriginals in this country and what conditions they live in. Better yet, aboriginal women. I know you won't but at least I've done my part. Nothing left to say to someone who is not well informed on this topic.

  41. I think its a variant of a strongman syndrome/complex. In terms of post revolutionary France I think it would be regarded as a right-wing trait and very likely looked on favourably by the powers and cronies that be. Have conservatives ever led the charge for doing away with FPTP in any other country or jurisdiction anywhere or is it just them damn progressives forever running around trying to change everything?

Is this the type of tolerance we are striving for in Canada? http://news.nationalpost.com/news/world/female-chess-players-threaten-boycott-after-being-told-to-wear-hijabs-at-world-championship-in-iran Should the women just suck it up and accept another nations customs and laws or is this an outrageous request? I think people are naive to believe that women that do wear the Hijab in the west do so because they want to and not because they are forced to by misogynistic cultural practices.

  43. Iran had a thriving economy and was on the verge of nationalizing its oil when the US-British backed coup resulted in the Shah who was a dictator who tortured and killed people. The religious takeover was essentially a fraud. The mullahs were not supposed to be anything but religious symbol and asked after the revolution if Khomeini was regretful that he lied to the people, and he said no, he did it in the name of Islam (Taqiya). The oppression that ensued is history. External factors played a much bigger role than you're willing to admit. Their anger at the western nations that instilled the Shah created the perfect breeding ground for the Mullah's takeover. It's also unfair to say that it's ultimately their culture that makes the country what it is. Many are risking their lives every day to bring change.

  44. I think what he is trying to point out is that women didn't used to wear veils in Iran, until dissatisfaction with the corrupt US-backed regime made conditions ripe for the revolution that led to the takeover of the country by religious fanatics. But I might be mistaken. -k

  45. So you work hard to become a World Class Chess player and in order to realize a dream of playing in a World Championship you have to wear a headscarf? It has nothing to do with playing chess. That's pretty discriminatory. Boycotting isn't good enough. The governing body should reverse their decision and not hold the championship in Iran.
