Madison Van Duyne said she and her classmates in a media writing class were on "lockdown" in their classrooms. They were huddled in the middle of the classroom, writing stories about the shootings and posting them online.

The toll is now at 30. If that won't make them implement some kind of gun control, I don't know what would.

If these victims had firearms of their own, they might have been able to defend themselves. As it was, they were sheep for the slaughter.

They already have some kind of gun control. What they need is some kind of gun prohibition. Giving the legitimate hunting enthusiast the capability to murder dozens in a short time span is ludicrous.

I think legitimate hunters and shooting enthusiasts should get back to muzzle loading powder arms firing .50 calibre balls......

.....I'm pretty sure the game animals agree too

Gun control does not work. If every kid was armed in that school, there would only be one person dead, well maybe two.

No amount of control will stop anyone from doing this should they really want to. Could use fertilizer and ammonia, and we dont ban those , could have stolen mega TNT and we dont ban those.

Guyser:No amount of control will stop anyone from doing this should they really want to.

Preventing this is not the real purpose of gun control. The gov wants to destroy the constitution and invoke a world government witha serveillence society like in Orwells 1984. This way you can be completely controlled and used as they wish. You affectively become a tool. Many users of this forum are nothing more than tools, but a tool doesn't realize he is a tool and thats the problem.

Stupid people will continually blame the "stupid politicians" for everything that is happening. The Tavistock institute and CFR are not stupid, they just want you to think your politicans are that way you can sit around, do nothing, and in this case wait for Billary to save us.

Billary will steal another few trillion dollars, start more wars and no one will notice the trend. Maybe everyone will be chipped and all guns taken away and cameras will be everywhere and then it will be too late. Protestors will be arrested and the sycophant fascists will be reporting them and laughing about it just like they do now.

The same thing could happen in Canada even with our gun control laws.

The reason this happened has more to do with mental illness than it has to do with guns.

If guns did not exist, or he could not get access to them, he might have used bombs made from everyday over the counter chemicals and the death toll may have been higher.... Whenever these things happen the guns are mainly just incidental to the act. And as many gun loving Americans or Canadians will argue, just one law abiding licensed and well trained gun owner in that class could have saved a few lives. (a bit of a stretch but quite possibly nonetheless).

Ironically, Virginia just recently refused to pass a law allowing gun possession on campus.

The fact is, this was a sick person who completely lost it and nobody was able to stop this guy before he acted.

Giving the legitimate hunting enthusiast the capability to murder.... Is this the way you wanted to word it? It is not the legitimate hunting enthusiast that is to blame here. An unstable mind with a gun in hand is the issue.

I agree with AndrewL on this matter. Also remember prohobition of alcohol back in the early part of the 20th century? Did that stop it? No. Did people still drink? Yes. Will the same results happen for prohobition on guns? 100% yes.

Practice gun saftey, and practice, and practice. Stable minds don't go shooting others.

First off, this is a tragedy no matter how one views it.

That said, I would also agree with Andrew and Gosthacked. I have not one problem with a well armed citizenry. IMO it is a liberty and right to defend oneself. I'm not going to play the what if game - though it does make one wonder sometimes.

This guy though, obviously had some serious mental issues, as members of any society will have. The gungrabbers will love this let's see the spin.

There was a gun ban on campus, something the controlled news doesn't mention. Had others had guns around someone would have maybe shot this guy and prevented the massacre.

Knowledge of a well armed citizenry would prevent people from even considering this type of action as their frustration builds.

actually, the more heavily armed a population is, the MORE gun violence there is

if every VA Tech student had a gun, there would have been perhaps only a single room shot up but part of the death toll would have been crossfire among the defenders

however, had the VA Tech killer been denied access to guns, no one would have been injured at all

once again, door number two is the only logical choice

Fact=cite.

Or just ask Australia since they banned many guns. Ask the State of Florida and the Castle Doctrine laws. Remove guns, violence goes up. Expand the laws allowing, and murders go down.

Damn how that works huh?

if every VA Tech student had a gun, there would have been perhaps only a single room shot up but part of the death toll would have been crossfire among the defenders

Thats what you want to believe, absent of any rational thought on the matter. Stop think please. It would not be the TV version of the wild west with everyone pulling out a gun and shooting it in the air. Likelihood...? he would have had one shot and then met some fine metal jackets in a hurry.

however, had the VA Tech killer been denied access to guns, no one would have been injured at all

And if no one had access to.....................

1) cars no one would die of auto accidents

2) pills no one would OD

3) booze no one would get killed driving drunk.

4)knives no one would get stabbed

5) internet then "some" people might read more.

"Thats what you want to believe, absent of any rational thought on the matter. " -- no, not absent rational thought

It would not be the TV version of the wild west with everyone pulling out a gun and shooting it in the air. - yes, it would, in fact in those places in the world where gun ownership is that common, it is exactly what you have and not for defense but to celebrate weddings or even new cars -

he would have had one shot and then met some fine metal jackets in a hurry.

- hahahaha - now your contradicting yourself, what you describe here is nothing but a wild west quick draw contest -- no, kids sitting at desks cannot draw weapons, turn and fire before a man with a semi-auto hand gun fires his second round, that is just laughable
