guyser Posted May 29, 2007 Report Posted May 29, 2007 Did anyone enjoy last nights game? To make it a series Ottawa better show up tomorrow night. I know I know, at least they are in the finals. My brother living in Ottawa called, it did not go well, traitor! Bettman , man what a piece of work that guy is. Quote
capricorn Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 My team turned to mush tonight in front of the Ducks. If it wasn't for Emery the score would have been 5-0. Oh, well....how are the Jays doing? Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers

Apart from that nine game loss streak, and massive injuries, not bad at all. Fun to watch , but it aint hockey. Will Ott be swept, or will they win a game? Ducks in five I say. I can only imagine the broken ankles in Ottawa last night and this morning. Quote
White Doors Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 Obviously my original prediction is gone but I still think Ottawa is going to do it. Quote Those Dern Rednecks done outfoxed the left wing again.~blueblood~

Edmonton did it against SJ last playoffs. Quote Those Dern Rednecks done outfoxed the left wing again.~blueblood~

White Doors Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 In the Stanley Cup Final, sure. But it's not that rare to come back from a 2-0 deficit to win a 7 game series in the NHL. Quote Those Dern Rednecks done outfoxed the left wing again.~blueblood~
geoffrey Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Their losses were both on the road. Win two at home and all is good. Quote RealRisk.ca - (Latest Post: Prosecutors have no "Skin in the Game") --
August1991 Posted June 1, 2007 Author Report Posted June 1, 2007 Ottawa Senators - Pittsburgh PenguinsBlack tie senators against perky penguins - Imagine! As much as I hate the place, I'll choose Ottawa if only to tantalize them for a while and then finish them off in another round. So, how delightful to finish off Ottawa - Senators, no less - in the finals. Anaheim in six! Quote
capricorn Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 Their losses were both on the road. Win two at home and all is good. One more to go in Ottawa and the SENS even it out. Then, a fresh series begins in Anaheim country. Skill over intimidation will determine the Cup Winner. Look for it. This is a great finale. I had predicted SENS in 6. I revise that to SENS in 7. Hey, the NHL needs the revenues. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
guyser Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Uh oh. Not that I mind of course. Totally classless move from Alfie, what a moron he is. No guts to stand up and take his lumps. Hopefully his head is on a swivel in Anaheim. Ducks in 5...I hope. Quote
capricorn Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Alfie's days with Ottawa are numbered. Time to send him packing. I can't wait. About Pronger, the Ducks seem to play better without him. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
guyser Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Alfie's days with Ottawa are numbered. Time to send him packing. I can't wait. I would send him home tonight. Pack his bags and put him on a plane to Sweden. Send that message to the team. (but I am biased so...) About Pronger, the Ducks seem to play better without him. Funny that. Twice now he is suspended and they take both games, and on the road. Pronger is a mean SOB, and looking like he is a dirty player too. If I were alfie, Pronger is NOT the guy I would want to see in front of me. The fans are something else , reveling in the shot at Neidermayer, laughing and smiling. Pathetic. All they have to do is look at Domi years ago and his stupid elbow to Neidermayer that handed NJ the series, even though Domi had been throat slashed by Neidermayer earlier. Just dumb is what it is. Go Ducks ! Quote
capricorn Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 Stupid fans are not confined to one team. Boneheads are found everywhere. The SENS played pitiful hockey in the SC. The Ducks outplayed them and the numbers prove it. Quote "We always want the best man to win an election. Unfortunately, he never runs." Will Rogers
fellowtraveller Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 It is painfully obvious that the Ducks are the better team. Shrug, so it goes. Quote The government should do something.

We're going to be buying tickets for a Blue Jays game in Toronto in September, and we're wondering if afternoon or night games are better/more fun, or if it makes no difference. Also, we're wondering if people tailgate before games in Toronto, or if that's just an American thing. Thanks to anyone who can help answer my questions. Quote

Hi AW...it really doesnt matter aft vs night games, but can depending on the weather make a huge difference. Days games on hot days can be pretty brutal sitting in there if the roof is open. If really hot sit on the west side since the sun will set on the east patrons. As for tailgating....welcome to Canada, leave your fun at home. Rarely do people tailgate , but the bars are packed around Skyd....oops Ted Rogers Centre. Hope that helps. Quote
Guest American Woman Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Hi, guyser! Thanks so much. That tells me what I needed to know. Quote
guyser Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 AW, you are welcome. Anyone posting thoughts on the final two games of the playoffs might bring? Yes I said "two games" since Pitt will win at home and go back to Detroit. Wings should prevail in Game 7. Wings looked beatable for stretches of last nights game , but then the Wings would come back and trurn it all around. Watched all of it until that last goal.....at 12:50 or something in the morning. Yawn....... Quote
M.Dancer Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 I have been o see the Jays once since they left exhibition stadium....which ties my record of seeing the expos once after they left Jarry park. The Cable Dome is no place to watch a sporting event, and Baseball is a sporting event akin to watching major league grass growing. The Cable Dome can even ruin football. Shame about next years Grey Cup....with a perfectly good stadium where they couldcharge a super premium for seats....the game will be in the Big Owe..... Malkin is pitiful, he should be benched but in the hopes that he will switch on the coach has no choice but to play him. I really don't think Pitsburgh can survive another game, even with Fleury standing on his head. I want them to, and they have the potential to win it all, but they still seem in awe of Detroit. Mentally they are half beaten. Quote

Guest American Woman Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Yay Red Wings! They took it in game 6, Guyser. Quote
HisSelf Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 The Wings deserved to win. They were definitely the better team. They opted to play a very physical game in the final and took a lot of penalties. The Pens power play just could not capitalize because the Wings' penalty killing was just incredible. At one point in the game Crosby had put in 12 minutes of ice time and only got one shot on net. The old adage is true. Offense sells tickets; defense wins games. I was neutral on the series - I like the Pens and their brash and very talented youth, but the Wings are one of the original six (counts for a lot up here in Canada) and their team was so well built and organized. This Detroit team is as much a management/coaching triumph as it was a player triumph. A great team. Quote ...
