bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) Well not on mainland USA, but yes, they are in Alaska. The rest are in zoos. Alaska is part of the USA....it is a state...believe it or not. Is there a "mainland" Canada (since clearly Canada is not contiguous) ? GostHacked Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Alaska is part of the USA....it is a state...believe it or not. Thanks for the geography lesson. I heard they had a presidential candidate from Alaska as well. Can you confirm? Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Anyway, Alaska is a drilling place, not a thrilling one. Then you don't know where to go in Alaska....very thrilling. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) Thanks for the geography lesson. I heard they had a presidential candidate from Alaska as well. Can you confirm? No, but a jounalist in Canada said she looks like a porno star. I think she was running for Vice President. Edited July 27, 2009 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
lily Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Canada is one dimensional in this respect, having no others on your border. Even the Maritimes were marginalized. A stepchild of Great Britain who gladly traded parts of Canada in treaties with America to garner support. The Americans have a more diverse experience in their development, and clearly distilled an identity that stands on its own. In other words, Canada had no Mexico, no Hawaii, no Philippines, etc., only the Americans. We have France and Greenland. And Russia. Norway too. Quote I'll rise, but I won't shine.
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) We have France and Greenland. And Russia. Norway too. Then why don't these nations figure in the definition? Where are the borders? Where are the people? Edited July 27, 2009 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
benny Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Then you don't know where to go in Alaska....very thrilling. When you don't know where to go in the US to get money, you go to Alaska. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Because the US is placed on the most hospitable land in America, its inhabitants can close their mind to the rest of the world. This of course cannot happen in Canada even if it was the wish of most Canadians. China did this for thousands of years...nearly same latitude. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 When you don't know where to go in the US to get money, you go to Alaska. When you don't know where to go in Canada to get money, you go to the USA. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
lily Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Then why don't these nations figure in the definition? Where are the borders? Where are the people? They used to, but they didn't rise to the bait as predictably as you people. Quote I'll rise, but I won't shine.
Shraytus Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 When you don't know where to go in Canada to get money, you go to the USA. The two modern-day economic depressions/recessions (1930s, and the 2000s) were caused directly by the USA, they're 11 trillion dollars in debt. Quote
lily Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 When you don't know where to go in Canada to get money, you go to the USA. Of course. THe trade imbalance is in our favour, after all. Quote I'll rise, but I won't shine.

benny Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 When you don't know where to go in Canada to get money, you go to the USA. Canadians go to their welfare offices rather. Quote
g_bambino Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Then why don't these nations figure in the definition? Do we have to conquer them to make them part of the definition? Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Of course. THe trade imbalance is in our favour, after all. ...back to Americans again....no definition without it. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Do we have to conquer them to make them part of the definition? No...Great Britain did that for you. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
Guest American Woman Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 QUOTE=bush_cheney: We have polar bears too.Well not on mainland USA, but yes, they are in Alaska. The rest are in zoos. Alaska is part of the mainland USA, otherwise referred to as the continental United States. Alaska is not part of the contiguous United States, but it is part of the mainland USA; therefore we do have Polar Bears on mainland USA. Quote
g_bambino Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 No...Great Britain did that for you. Just like it did for you, too. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Just like it did for you, too. The Americans learned how to do it by themselves.....Canada never did. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
lily Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 ...back to Americans again....no definition without it. That was in reply to this post: When you don't know where to go in Canada to get money, you go to the USA. So maybe the truth is that it's YOU who can't "define" anyone else without mentioning Americans. Quote I'll rise, but I won't shine.
bush_cheney2004 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 So maybe the truth is that it's YOU who can't "define" anyone else without mentioning Americans. Maybe, but based on this forum, I am not the only one. LOL! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
g_bambino Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 The Americans learned how to do it by themselves.....Canada never did. Then this was just the long way round to an otherwise simple answer to my original question: yes. Quote
