Do you honestly think that spending billions of our dollars on stupid green house emisoins is in the best interest of Canadians?? lol..

There are cheaper and less intrusive ways of doing it... but it's no less important than Dion emphasises.

The Liberal approach to GHG though has throughly destroyed our environment. I don't trust them on the environment. They acted all pro-environment by signing a worthless sheet of paper, did nothing for 13 years, let toxins pollute our air and soil, did nothing on the trans-fat in our food that is going to contribute to the deaths of tens of thousands of Canadians this year, did nothing on the carcinogens in our water and air that will again kill tens of thousands of Canadians each and every year.

I don't trust any party on the environment. They've all failed us. Those Greens would be no better either, I promise you that.

Stephanie Dion is not going to be Prime Minister! There are a number of reasons for this and here they are in no particular order of importance.

1. Even in that silly poll that relys heavily on eastern, Toronto-Montreal responses, where the federal Conservatives have no seats anyway, Dion only gets 55% support, and that is before we all have a chance to get a good crack at him.

2. Despite my mistrust of this poll, Prime Minister Harper gets 56% support, and he is actually governing, making choices, and has been attacked by the left for years.

3. Due to Media bias (eastern) the whole liberal leadership convention was played up but it don't mean a thing in the house of commons or in an election.

4. Once people know that Dion was environment minister and failed, and that he was in cabinet for years and did nothing good, letting the green house emissions grow by 35%, we will see how his stupid pronouncements on the environment are dealt with by the canadian population.

5. Dions english is a joke. I don't think I have ever heard worse, even by Chrietien.

6. This effeminate fool will not win any more seats for the liberals in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. They can't win any good number in the north, cause they have most of them (2). They already have more than the share they can expect in the Maritmes (even though the number they have is anti democratic since the maritimes should lose a whole bunch). I doubt they will get any more in Ontario with this guy, I would bet the Conservatives pick up a few. And finally Quebec, a province that has given the Liberals most of the seats in the leftist stronghold of Montreal. In the rest of the province Dion is hated for trying to screw Quebec (and other provinces) out of the rights they have in the constitution, as well as denying the fiscal imbalance. He will not pick up a single seat in any area that is not hugely anglo. And since they already have those seats, he is screwed.

7. The liberals can't raise money worth crap, they only raised one quarter of what the Conservatives got in the last few years. They are in debt up to their eyeballs. Conservatives raised double what the three oposition parties did recently, from tens of thousands of people, while the liberals managed to get almost the same amount as the socialist NDP, but with only about five thousand supporters donating, as compared to the socialists, who at least had a larger number of supporters.

8. Prime Minister Harper will drill his iron fist into the face of this gutless academic fool, useing intellect and strength of conviction, as well as superior tactical and strategic thinking.

9. Prime Minister Harper only has to keep the libs in check for six years, and then the west gets its large number of seats increased (bc) (ab), most of those seats will go to the Conservatives. The economy of Alberta, with internal and external growth of population, will be in line for six to ten additonal seats, almost all of them to the Conservatives, if not all. Did you ever wonder how Alberta keeps having almost all Conservative politicians both federal and provincial, even with two million people adding to the one and a half million native pop. over the last 30 years? We convert them, we show them every slight against us, we train them to watch for eastern biased media, we make them aware of every injustice on Alberta brought by the east. And we let them know that they only way to stop the liberal eastern left from stealing our wealth is to vote Conservative en masse.

---I could go on and on, but I will let you judge these points alone for now.

Long live Alberta, long live the West, and destruction to anyone who screws with us Conservatives!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong Bacon but weren't you the one I encountered on another website more than a year ago promoting Alberta separation if the Liberals got re-elected?

Since I only bought a computer and got high speed internet from telus a few months ago, I think that you having run across me before is not relevant and in fact is totally impossible. I didn't think I needed a computer, but crossing swords with leftist who have nothing to say, so I can crush them, makes me happy I changed my mind about needing one.

I like mixed metaphors normcrapeau, they amuse me. So much more so than your short and irrelevant post on my opinions. When you are ready to cross swords in a meaningful way, we can have a duel. Until then I will continue to crush your poor posts. If you do actually begin to respond to my posts in detail, and in substance, then I may only stab you on occasion in our batlle, and may get stabbed myself. Till then, crush trash, crush trash, with bare hands.

IMO there is an arrogant assumption among the Liberals (including the CBC) that they will "stop Harper" and easily win the next election. On Cross Country Checkup yesterday, Dion said to Rex Murphy

"thank you to invite me"

Now, given that he was to be on national radio, don't you think Dion would make sure the first English words out of his mouth were grammatically correct? After all, he wasn't responding to an out-of- left-field question. He was responding to the entirely predicatable question.

He's an oldschool Chretien crony who survived Martin's short reign by being fairly invisible. I don't think he will convert any Conservative voters. In fact, I would think he will turn off a a lot of people due to the fact that he's a throw back to Chretien era, and heavens to betsy, even sounds like him.

Hasta La Vista baby!

Whether Dion gets elected will not, in my opinion, be a function of his English-speaking ability. Those who have a problem with his English are likely Harper supporters.

Get ready for the absolute fawning of the CBC/Toronto media for Dion. He's an intellectual who talks social justice, the environment, he'll get rid of Harper and he's a federalist from Quebec.

Even Rex Murphy is in awe.

And this is unlike the fawning on Harper prior to the election how?

<_< To hear you whine, that strategey has yet to be a rollicking success for you.

But the more curious thing about your comment is the claim of injustices and slights against Alberta. What injustices or slights? You guys just keep making these things up, but whenever it gets questioned your reasons make no sense ... NEP boo hoo, equalization blah blah.

I agree for the most part. I haven't been happy with the Libs record on the environment or the hot air act proposed by the Cons.

I do take issue with the phrase "did nothing for 13 years" when referring to Kyoto. I think you were using the phrase in reference to the Liberal's environmental record over their entire run..but so many people use the same phrase when discussing GHGs..

The Kyoto accord was officially ratified in Dec 2002. Martin was in Dec 2003, shook up the cabinet and Dion was ousted. Dion will get attacked on the Kyoto issue but it will not be entirely deserved. He had just one year on the project at a time when the top guy was simply focused on his own legacy.

Oh well I guess perception is reality. The Cons will attack Dion on Kyoto but it's not like they have a Green record to counter with. Anyway, we can only hope that Dion and Harper scramble to be greener than each other...in the end Canada will benefit.

Dion will be back in his leftist ivory tower speaking crap english in no time.

That's "crap English".

Technically, shouldn't it be "crappy English"? I mean, I have no problem with spelling mistakes, but when someone criticizes someone else for their grammar/spelling, shouldn't they try not to be hypocritical? (no, I am not talking about you Figleaf, I am talking about the original post)

Well, I guess he could be, did anyone think Harper would be PM? Many hoped not but he is half-as one. Perhaps one could say that even Layton still has a chance to be. The voters sometimes are strange people when it comes to voting. I think most go by party lines and others by the person. I find Harper's group more of actors acting before the camera and not doing more for Canada. As I have said before, Baird is the groups comedian, or he tries to be and that's not what we are paying them for, we are not getting our money worth in this government!

Name the last group of politicians (of ANY stripe) that gave us 10% of our money's worth.
My question is, when the next election is held, whenever that may be, do the Liberals go back to using Harper as a bogeyman because it seems, to me anyway, they've got nothing positive to give to voters? I,personally think that canadians as a whole aren't going to buy that line any more. I can only hope!

That sounds alot like radical Islam.

First the indoctrination/brainwashing then the fanatical response to anything not your own.

Did you know that Dion is a French Citizen (we know the GG gave hers up after it hit the fan) so does this make him a French poodle - cos we know if Harper had U.S. citizenship he would be a U.S. poodle. LOL and Dion was born here, not in France.

How do you manage each day knowing you're just the funniest person alive? It must be a huge burden.

When he loses the next election he'll want to use his French citizenship passport.
