The constant drip, drip, drip of Trump & Epstein files. The files will continue to ooze out until all is known.

Trumps next really offensive move is to Pardon Maxwell.

Imagine if Andrew was our king and the Brits decided not to remove him. We’d be stuck with him like ridiculous colonials. This system is not fit for purpose. Our head of state should be chosen by us and live here.

I mean... it's implied in your scenario that the Brits would have a choice to remove him.

Presumably we would also then right ?  And I would guess we would be more inclined to remove him.

After the last 10 years of instability, I moved back to the pro-monarchy column.  I think that as a fallback to runaway populism, it's a sound thing to keep them.

Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase !

Say the king was accused of unsavoury behaviour and their govt decided to leave him there. We’d have to accept that which is utterly pathetic. Such a decision should always sit with us.

Maybe, but we could also amend the Constitution. Listen it was 1980, if you were around, maybe you remember how white and British we were compared to today.

Shocked to hear about Prince Andrew's fatal car crash next week. 😬

The British are talking about removing Andrew from the line of succession. The implications for other countries will be discussed but only after the decision has been made over there.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/feb/20/mps-parliament-consider-removing-former-prince-andrew-mountbatten-windsor-from-line-of-succession

Any time these matters pop up we are an afterthought at most. It’s humiliating. A proper country needs its own resident head of state. That’s not too much to ask.

I don’t mean to sound like I’m constantly fuming over this. Given our constitutional gridlock we’re probably stuck with what we have and that’s fine. I hope to see two developments:

1. A smaller, more ‘Scandinavian’ monarchy in Britain with less secrecy, pomp, wealth and people.

2. More emphasis on the GG as our de facto head of state.

The GG is not even democratically chosen. That means partisanship and non arms length transactions come into play. Canada's democracy is weak and archaic.
