Governments in Canada routinely deny essential medical care in our "public health care system".

My wife had a similar situation 2 yrs ago. Her appendix. She got the same  immediate care she needed.

Seems like we have 2 systems: the real one, which despite its problems, works when it's needed, and: the right-wing imaginary one, that's apocalyptically dis-functional.

It's just raining. The sky is not falling!

Sounds like you are not admitting to the truth and making up your own narrative.

All the facts have been presented about the many problems with the health care system, but you deny them.   You have lost all credibility.

No Blackbird, as I pointed out good and common things do not make the news, that's why you only hear the bad stuff. You're the one 'believing' and not facing facts.

As I tell my American friends our Doctors are so f*cking good here they don't need a team of specialists and multiple MRIs to tell you that you blew your leg off with a shotgun. Tell me one of yours that got an ambulance, a week in hospital, an appendectomy and all their follow up meds for twenty bucks.

So about that woman in Saskatchewan in the OP.

She's scheduled to die in January. She needs an operation that isn't done in Saskatchewan. In order to be referred out of province, she needs to see an endocrinologist first. None is taking on new patients in Saskatchewan. So she's shit out of luck. She's in extreme pain, and they won't do a thing. This has been going on for FIVE YEARS.

Here's a Global news story done on her a couple of years ago: https://globalnews.ca/video/9898647/regina-woman-waits-for-surgery-as-waitlists-grow-across-the-country

But hey, how'd you like to die instead!? Yup. She can get MAID without any problem, and so is scheduled to die on January 7.

And then, her case caught the eye of notorious American Glen Beck. No doubt so he can use it as an example of how public healthcare sucks so badly.

Now it looks like she will get the surgery she needs in the US.

Good for her, where there's a will there's a way.

In the meantime...

According to the video her surgeon is limited to working three and a half days per month. How is this is possible in a system that is run by right-wing conservatives who are putatively not only fed up with long waitlists and poor public healthcare, they also don't have a lot of time for working people who sit on their asses for 26.5 days of the month.

Scott Moe has been in power now since 2018. There is no excuse for this.

Never mind Glenn Beck is Scott Moe withholding care so she can die and he can say 'See, Glen Beck is right socialism doesn't work, especially when Conservatives don't give a shit about it'?

I think its fair to ask if this surgeon is paid not to work. Because if he is being paid to pick his nose why people die then this is on him too.

I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical,
a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

Canadian society is unable to sustain itself and the problem is becoming more and more clear.  This was entirely predictable for decades but few seemed to care.  A stupid society deserves what it gets guess.

9 percent of U.S. citizens do not have health care?

Be grateful ................ no, that's not right don't be grateful ......... elect people that will reduce the rhetoric and maintain the beotch.

From listening to Canadians a person could be forgiven thinking that Healthcare and Defense spending are closely related - both are poorly managed and provided with 'just' enough to shut people up till the next election.

Easy. They are forced to comply with laws put in place by left-wing liberals such as yourself that limit their choices and would rather see people die than have any Private participation whatsoever

The Ontario NDP government not only froze the number of new medical/nursing school seats but actually paid universities to train fewer doctors. And nobody changed that until a couple of years ago, despite how much the population grew and aged. Every government kicked it down the street in hopes it would be someone else's problem. That certainly worked out for the Ontario Liberals, who did nothing for fifteen years as the healthcare system deteriorated.
