Maybe you feel a compulsion to describe most criticism of Trump this way because of the way it also reflects America's baser values - Americans produced this guy after all.  I can certainly see that being embarrassing enough you'd spend lots of time criticizing the critics. These critical articles seem pretty factual. I don't think these guys are lying or exaggerating, do you?  I suspect there are millions upon millions even billions around the world who would agree. I mean, what do you say to that broad and wide a swath of consensus?

There is no analogy with any previous action by any past president. The brazenness of the self-enrichment resembles nothing seen in any earlier White House. This is American corruption on the scale of a post-Soviet republic or a postcolonial African dictatorship.
