Trump urges Republicans to kill the filibuster

This is a horrible idea. His logic is that the Democrats will do it any way, so we might as well do it to get things done. 

The reason this is a horrible idea is two fold. First, they couldnt get it done the last time they tried: Democrats fail to change Senate rules to overcome GOP opposition on voting rights

Second, the democrats want to use the lack of a fillabuster to make the US a one party rule government. They would use the lack of a fillabuster rule to make DC and Jamaica states, ensuring 4 new Senators and preventing Republicans from ever holding the Senate: Rep. Jody Hice: DC statehood vote – here's what Democrats' power play is really about

Despite Harry Reid's claim, the fillabuster can be done the old fashioned way, today. And that is exactly what the Republicans should do to end the Democratic Party from holding America hostage. The Rs would bring the bill to a vote, when the Ds propose a fillabuster, the Rs call it to question and now the Ds have to actually do it. Attest 51 Rs have to be present or the fillabuster wins out. If the Ds stop talking, the bill passes with a simple majority vote. 

That is the correct path to take here. Let Americans see the Democrats fighting to make travel a nightmare, keep troops unpaid and hold SNAP benefits hostage while the Rs stand unified to restore normalcy.

Polls tell us the public blames RepubliCONS 45% to 33% for the shutdown because they are IN CHARGE and passed the BIG BUTT-UGLY BILL with no Democratic input despite EVERY RepubliCON lying about their duplicity.

Well, polls are a perception argument. 
 

The fact is that this shutdown is driven by and the fault of Democrats.

Yeah. It's a bad line to cross and sure, it's possible the democrats may choose to cross it first but that's something you should let them do and then own it.

And once Canada is annexed the American right wing will be relegated to the wilderness for a century.

I'm a globalist in the tradition of Star Trek. Sooner or later human beings will have to start reducing the number of countries there are so being annexed doesn't really freak me out. 

There'll be fewer governments to keep an eye on and fewer options for the 1% to keep their wealth on the move.  Right now they have a shell game with almost 200 shells. It's no wonder economic disparity has gotten so obvious.

How long do you think it will keep "working" for democrats when they are facing 5 hour TSA lines and no snap benefits? 

And let's be clear. Democrats are shutting down the government because they want to make temporary Covid subsidies permanent. They want those subsidies to be permanent because they are using that money to attract illegal aliens that they are turning into voters in an attempt to take over the government.

Democrats are working to get back the citizens' healthcare that RepubliCONS eliminated with the Big BUTT-UGLY Bill.

There is now a RepubliCON proposal for a 2 year extension of ACA subsidies, so it looks like RepubliCONS are coming to their senses due to the blame they are incurring.

There is now a RepubliCON proposal for a 2 year extension of ACA subsidies, so it looks like RepubliCONS are coming to their senses due to the blame they are incurring.

That was a temporary subsidy meant to help people through the pandemic. It turned into a full blown illegal immigrant grant under Joe's dictatorship.

I would prefer to see the end of the filibuster…and the Senate in its current form and the presidency. The British system is better if you want to get things done. The head of government should not be the head of state either, obviously. Elect them separately. There’s no charge for any of this BTW.

I think you'll have a pretty tough time selling The Americans on the idea that they shouldn't elect a president to be the head of state. I think you're right but they never will
