In the wee hours of the morning, the New York Times ran an astonishing article:

Memo From Bill Gates Warns Against Climate Alarmism - The New York Times

He’s changed his mind.

“Climate change will have serious consequences — particularly for people in the poorest countries — but it will not lead to humanity’s demise,” the pudgy software billionaire admitted.

For lefties, the only group that deserves more hatred than MAGA fascists, is climate crisis deniers. Some of the comments:
“It is very suspicious that Bill Gates has radically changed his views after just a few months of Trump’s presidency.”
“Billionaires don’t have the solution because they are the problem.”

Bill’s memo was not linked by the Times. It isn’t hard to find though. He has his own news site called GatesNotes, where he disgorges his various late-night theories and ruminations.

This one was titled, “Three tough truths about climate. Subtitle: “What I want everyone at COP30 to know.”

COP30 is the latest in a series of COPs, which is the world’s biggest climate conclave, organized by the United Nations. It's the can’t-miss event of the year. Especially if you earn your living on the Climate Express grift train. Bill Gates has been a permanent installation at previous COPs and is a beloved keynote speaker, a major address deliverer, a prominent panel participant, and of course, THE big money man.

Bill Gates just announced that he isn’t going.

Seeya.

After several paragraphs of reassuring COP30 addicts that he still takes climate change very seriously, Gates continued in his “memo” to gently shred climate science into ribbons. The lengthy memo was packed with a long series of graphs, charts, arguments, and three “tough truths.” (They’re only ‘tough truths’ to climate junkies.)

Here they are:

  • “Truth #1. Climate change is a serious problem, but it will not be the end of civilization.”
  • “Truth #2. Temperature is not the best way to measure our progress on climate.”
  • “Truth #3. Health and prosperity are the best defense against climate change.”

In short), Gates said the best way to measure progress on climate is through human flourishing. “It’s time to put human welfare at the center of our climate strategies,” Gates wrote, “which includes reducing the Green Premium to zero.”

What Gates meant by “Green Premium” was the extra cost of green tech over things like coal plants and gas engines. In other words, Gates argued we shouldn’t use any climate solution that isn’t cheaper than the traditional alternative. If COP30 accepts this advice, it would wipe out 99% of the purpose for the stupid summit in the first place.

Gates next suggested climate worshippers stop being such negative ninnies and look at the long term - like, maybe improving peoples’ lives —not with windmills and solar farms— but through genetically engineered food and vaccines and stuff.
Until about ten minutes ago, Bill Gates was one of the biggest doomsayers on the planet. Now, apparently, he’s decided that he is out.

To me, none of this redeems Gates.  Like buying billions in Moderna stock right before the pandemic, (even though Moderna had yet to bring any product to market) then selling it all - just before admitting the shots don’t work.

But why? We can only speculate. USAID money isn’t flowing to Gates’ foundations and climate companies anymore, so now he must fund them with his own money. That’s one. He also has a great big Epstein problem that he’d prefer stay buried along with the International Mystery Man. That’s two. Chemtrail experiments will soon be shuttered for good. That’s three. And Gates can easily see Republicans holding the White House for quite a while yet, so climate won’t be nearly as profitable as the old days, not if you count “profits” as free money extracted from taxpayers by lefty politicians and then laundered back to those same politicians through climate CEOs.

The level of distrust and fictional conspiracy motives that you continually imply towards government and/or persons of success and wealth is truly remarkable...

Rather than imagining another conspiracy and ulterior financial motives by the worlds largest philantrophist, try reading what Gates actually said.  I've bolded some of his comments to help you focus on that to not get distracted;

Climate change not a death sentence for humanity, Bill Gates says

Oct. 28, 2025 10:58 AM ETMSFTERTHQCLNTANFANICLNGRIDBy: Sinchita MitraSA News Editor

Microsoft (MSFT) co-founder Bill Gates argued that while global warming is grave, especially for people in the poorest countries, it is no longer a death sentence for humanity.

Gates, in his blog published ahead of next month’s COP30 summit, said that the doomsday approach to climate issues is leading to a diversion of too many resources to emission goals rather than “improving lives” in a warming world.

Unfortunately, the doomsday outlook is causing much of the climate community to focus too much on near-term emissions goals, and it’s diverting resources from the most effective things we should be doing to improve life in a warming world. It’s not too late to adopt a different view and adjust our strategies for dealing with climate change,” Gates noted in the blog post.

Gates added that even though climate change will hurt poor people more than anyone else, for a lot of them it will not be the only or even the biggest threat to their lives and welfare. “The biggest problems are poverty and disease, just as they always have been. Understanding this will let us focus our limited resources on interventions that will have the greatest impact for the most vulnerable people,” he said.

Gates questions whether funds earmarked for climate are being allocated efficiently, arguing in the blog: “Is the money designated for climate being spent on the right things? I believe the answer is no.”

“In short, climate change, disease, and poverty are all major problems. We should deal with them in proportion to the suffering they cause. And we should use data to maximize the impact of every action we take,” he said.

Gates' latest views appeared more pragmatic than alarmist compared with earlier works such as his 2021 book How to Avoid a Climate Disaster, which framed the task as aiming for zero emissions to avoid a climate disaster.

His comments come at a time when the U.S. political environment seems to be moving away from set goals of climate goals. Under Donald Trump the U.S. withdrew from the Paris Agreement and federal climate policy became more uncertain.

Under the Paris Agreement, 195 parties decided that they would try and prevent global temperatures from rising by more than 1.5 degrees Celsius above levels seen in the pre-industrial period and that the increase in the global average temperature will be well below 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.

However, Gates added that temperature might not be the best way to measure progress on climate.

“The global temperature doesn’t tell us anything about the quality of people’s lives. If droughts kill your crops, can you still afford food? When there’s an extreme heat wave, can you go somewhere with air conditioning? When a flood causes a disease outbreak, can the local health clinic treat everyone who’s sick?” he said.

In March, the Gates-founded group called Breakthrough Energy, which worked on reducing emissions, witnessed a layoff, and its policy arm was also slashed, according to a report by the New York Times.

In February, the chief sustainability officer at Microsoft, Melanie Nakagawa, acknowledged that the moon has gotten further away when it came to their sustainability goals.

In recent times, climate activists have been alarmed by the advent of artificial intelligence and the pursuit of data centers.

However, Gates, in his blog, added that innovation is the way to curb climate change, adding it already has. “In the past 10 years, we’ve cut projected emissions by more than 40 percent,” he added.

Thus, Gates urged that it was time to put human welfare at the center of the climate strategies, which will include slashing the green premium to zero and improving agriculture and health in poor countries.

“So I urge that community, at COP30 and beyond, to make a strategic pivot: prioritize the things that have the greatest impact on human welfare. It’s the best way to ensure that everyone gets a chance to live a healthy and productive life no matter where they’re born and no matter what kind of climate they’re born into,” he said.

Exactly.  Like all of us who don't live in the world of the climate death cult have said for years - No more taxpayer money to billionaires for climate shit.

Make people's lives better.  When they're not struggling just to subsist, then they care about the planet.

You don't appear to understand what he's saying, if you even read it...  He said that while climate change is 'grave' the strategies and monies should be more allocated to where climate change is having the greatest impacts... food, shelter, and disease.  That to your comment 'makes peoples lives better'.

You don't appear to understand that he is pivoting.

Keep your hair on fire and shoveling money to billionaires for nothing if you want to.

A lot of us are done with the grift and the climate death cult.

No, I clearly understand what he's saying as most logical people do.  It's a simple matter of comprehending words.

Of course, the worlds largest philanthropist is playing the ultimate grift on you right now...  The $100B his foundation has given away in philanthropy is nothing more than a set-up to reel you and the rest of the world in before turning the tables and reaping the financial rewards that will ultimately bankrupt everyone for his benefit.

Be careful out there if you dare go outside...

What?

I don't understand the need to ascribe an evil motive to something like this.

Furthermore, I don't see what he's done to change his mind. He's trying to caution against alarmism which is a good thing.

It's weird to me that you read the whole thing and say.. haha Gates has changed his mind. He's with Trump now, or has been influenced by Trump or something.

Then you say... Why is this.... It must be because it's costing him money!

I don't understand it

I came here to read this because somebody in another thread said that Gates is ditching the green initiative. It says clearly in here that he's still funding things, although from his words it seems like he's going for long-term benefits.

Seriously.... why embellish everything as a conspiracy and/or a total f' job to the world?

You come across a pretty smart woman...   Why do you laugh at Gates being a philantrophist?  The guy has literally given $100 BILLION + to global health. education and climate initiatives and you have a problem with that?  Curious to know why you think that's funny.  And if you don't take this word for it, google it.

Whatchya thinking...  is this the grift of all grifts coming at us?

I think maybe this person's experiences reflect never having encountered anyone who works at the higher levels of the political economic pyramid.

I was in a band with a guy who spoke to Gates. He said" good morning Mr. Gates. I will put your call through now".

That counts. It means that Gates is not a robot or hologram. He was doing some work with my friend's company. He's a real person with goals.

I don't see why conspiracies would even be necessary, with the people who are running things today. They're openly corrupt, and no one cares.

There's no conspiracy's...  that's just the narrative some need to hang onto in today's world.

Who knows with anyone but... the richest guy in the world at the time decides he has brought his company to the point where enough was enough and chose another purpose in bettering peoples lives with the obscene money he accumulated. I can see how people like him are a real problem in society these days...

Sure thing.

Our system, such as it is, creates historical awards beating the competition. But it's not just about technology, it's also about navigating legal and marketing landscapes. His software, and his company, barely escapes the gravity of mediocrity but whatever he's number one....

He's older, so he grew up in a time when noblesse oblige, look it up if you don't know it, was a thing.

So he has this strange idea that you have to give back.

As for the conspiracy set, when you realize that every action movie that came out of Hollywood for 50 years had high-level conspiracy as a theme... It's not hard to see why people think that it's real.

I work in the domain of these large organizations, So I understand that it's not.

Furthermore, as Chomsky says, the bad deeds that elites are done in the wide open and nobody cares.. no conspiracy necessary.

@Goddess.

Its like trying to convince Christians that Jesus was just a nice guy. They simply warp what is plain and go on to make their religion paramount.

Meh...Gates won't be at the COP30 convention, nor will he be funding destructive ideas anymore. Hey...maybe he'll even stop his cloud seeding now?

The fact is...you cant fight against common sense. These greenies have invested everything in inflicting suffering on the population, based on blatant lies. They will now fall back on saying man has impacted the climate. But nobody disputes that, so their last remaining fig leaf is dry and crumbling.

I suspect Gates has realized AI is a cash-cow and has had to change his tune. But his message is correct.

We are NOT all gonna die...we do have to allow under developed nations to use fossil fuels...we do have to stop this war on fossil fuels.

I take great pleasure in knowing we, the sensible, have been proven right.

Yet again.

I don't know why, but this is not letting me post the link for this article.  You'll have to look it up, sorry.

The report analyzed publicly available information on every approved carbon mitigation-focused project being financed by the world’s two major multilateral climate funds: the UN-backed Green Climate Fund, and World Bank's Climate Investment Funds.

This is 100% grift.

3.thumb.png.71aaa352a9f9e74486d44d11163d8210.png

Project Analysis and Findings

The report evaluated publicly accessible data on every approved carbon mitigation project funded by two of the world’s primary multilateral climate funds: 178 projects from the UN-backed Green Climate Fund and 466 from the Climate Investment Funds, initiated by the World Bank and regional development banks. The authors scrutinized nearly 650 projects against a comprehensive set of criteria, utilizing a computer program that was later verified manually.

Reactions from Experts

Bert De Wel, who serves as the global climate policy coordinator at the International Trade Union Confederation and was not involved in the report, expressed that the findings reflect the experiences of workers and their unions worldwide. He noted, "Climate finance is determined by the needs of the investors instead of the people affected by the emergency."
