On a serious note....  this world of political divisivness isn't going anywhere any time soon.  Political leaders use it to their advantages and people whether you're right or left think they're right and the other guy is wrong.  I predict that unfortunately it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.  What the catalyst will be to ending it I have no idea...

In terms of merit, the same could be said of many German generals in WWII with considerably more justification but most of us reserve a little praise only for someone who saw the error of his ways before the end. Lee was an enthusiastic personal supporter of an abominable institution and fought to defend it. He also betrayed his country and sought to destroy it. The Confederate high command were lucky to escape execution.
