We have school liaison officers but they aren’t there to protect kids from shooters.

An 11-year-old has died after he was shot while playing a doorbell ditch prank in Houston, police said, the latest tragic example of a TikTok trend authorities have been warning parents about in a case that could yield a murder charge.

The boy and his friends were playing a game of “ding dong ditch” at a house down the street from their homes just before 11 p.m. Saturday when a person inside the house came out and shot the boy, Houston police said.

A witness said the boy was running from the house on Racine Street after ringing the doorbell when he was shot, police said.

The boy was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead on Sunday, according to police.

In a Dallas suburb at the end of July, a man fired shots into a fleeing car after someone banged on his door, according to police. The man was arrested on charges of aggravated assault.

In May, an 18-year-old high school senior in Virginia was shot and killed while filming a “ding dong ditch” to post on TikTok, The New York Times reported. The man accused of shooting the teen was charged with second-degree murder.

In 2020, three 16-year-olds were killed when a man rammed his car into their vehicle in retaliation for pulling a “ding dong ditch” prank on him. The man was convicted of three counts of murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in 2023.

There are nutbars in the us who will kill with cars , with fire, with knives, with guns, with explosives, airplanes, you name it. 

Same with Canada (minus the airplanes so far).

The fact you see no difference between a kid dying in a swimming accident and one being shot to death in a classroom says a ton about you.

The only way they would be equal is if someone deliberately held the kids head underwater until it drowned.

You're losing this one badly. 

His point is perfectly valid.  Your concern over dead kids is entirely dependent on how they died. 

Normal people would be very sad to hear a kid was murdered.  And they would be just as sad to hear he drowned in a pool. The point would be that the child died needlessly and now those that are left behind will suffer. 

YOU only care about the kid who was shot.  You insist that there's some "Difference",  that the kid who died in the pool doesn't count, only the one who was shot matters.  You say you can't even understand why @User  doesn't see the difference. 

There's no difference.  A child is dead who didn't need to be. But you care about the 'shooting', not the child. 

THIS happened a few weeks back, i didn't hear you say a single thing.  No gun. Guess that means this kid doesn't count.

Some crazy people shoot others therefore all guns are bad and so are all gun owners. We must stop the gun culture

Some lakes and pools drown kids therefore all lakes and pools are bad and so are all swimmers.  We must stop swim culture. 

Same argument.  You can see how stupid one is but your hatred and bigotry prevents you from seeing you're being equally stupid with the other. 

You don't care about kids deaths in the slighest. You care about hating guns and appreciate every child who sacrifices their life so that you can attack guns.  The rest can eff themselves, they mean nothing.

Once again this it is obvious that there are two problems that cause these unnecessary deaths.

1.  The mental issues of tens of millions or hundreds of millions of citizens, who think shooting people is the way to behave.

2.  The easy availability of guns, particularly handguns, in the U.S. is a fact of life.  Reportedly there are more guns than people.  With no serious gun control of course many mentally unstable or foolish people will use their guns for anything one could imagine.  When most of the population have easy access to hand guns, that is the natural outcome.

The fact is the so-called right to bear arms in the Constitution is being interpreted to mean that every mentally challenged or unstable person has the right to own handguns or assault weapons, even though the Supreme Court has ruled that government has the right to deny convicted felons and mentally ill people from owning guns.  Unfortunately, that principle does not appear to be widely enforced and there is a gun culture.  Almost anyone who wants guns has them, regardless of their mental state.

The biggest lie around is coming mainly from the GOP or MAGA movement that guns don't kill people and only people kill people.  That is a bold-faced lie.  The truth is there and anyone with a reasonable mind should be able to see it.

A gun is not a thinking being that decides to kill people either. Guns don't break into peoples homes or show up at schools to shoot people.

Back to my point... I have a swimming pool and we go swimming at the lake... so I guess I love swimming more than dead kids too!

I have also done far more than lip service, but for folks like you, if we don't hate guns enough, then you think that is not doing anything.
