You can interpret this win for Unions as perhaps a return to basics of the union movement.
Ask your Grampa who'd remember when ALL strikes were illegal and all unions were criminal Bolshevik saboteurs. That put their skin in the game and invented the middle class.
Look at what's happened in the last 40 years since the privileged convinced so many they were evil institutions and passed Right To Scab laws and the like, how the middle class shrank and income disparity grew to the point of absurdity. They say only 6% of jobs in the USA are union these days.

And fool enough to believe the jobs they bring back from China and India are going to make things better. Enjoy smelting gold our of motherboards in your living room while your wife makes dinner cooking over dried cow turds, people. Maybe your kids can kick in working in call centers,

It wasn't a win for the union. They got a teeny tiny bit better offer and told take it or we will destroy you. So they took it. This was a game of optics

The unions might win if their lawsuit proceeds and is successful though. That will be interesting

The ultimate power lays in the hands of the people and not the govt. The option to pogo between a Liberal and Conservative (or Rep/Dem for our neighbours) is only a choice of icons, not real power.
We're supposed to be happy as Canadians to have that choice of alternatives that offer workers a red you know what of more say, but they too will step in when the stakes are high.

Most of this forum is of the age that stopped a f*cking war by getting on the streets and still wants to leave our kids something better while understanding we let too much slide. Gotta do it again and show them that they can too.

I am of the opinion that this generation is in need of someone to blame.... for everything.

My grandparents got nothing, my parents got nothing and neither did I. We did the best we could what what we had and at times , that was very little but, we managed. I got nothing from my parents and in no way think I have to leave my kids anything. If I have something when I die, yes, they can have it but, I am not doing it for them.
