The relationship between US/Canada has always been reciprocal. both countries have defended each other, traded with each other, and relied on each other during crises. Relationships work best when both sides recognize the value each brings. You're welcome, BTW, for the energy we provided to 14 of your States during last week's cold snap. John Stone Posted January 29 Report Posted January 29 There will never be a military annexation of Canada - arguably China won't allow it. (lol) Seriously tho a far more viable option is economic but I doubt there is enough time for it to 'bite' tho .............. unless? Suppose the argument can be made that time is on Canada's side wrt global diversification. I have to admit Carney is a player in global negotiation ..... His moves are fast, hypocritical and decisive. The changes in the U.S. will be generational, global and very uncertain. buckle up ........... ur watching history being made. Russian, China and the U.S. ....................... who is going to be left without a chair when the music stops? How ironic that global stability came with the so-called, Cold War. Quote

Holy shit, after i just expained it to you , you come back and look even MORE stupid 😛 Now you really have no excuse. As the information I provided shows it did climb above two. But it did not climb to 2.1 which is the minimum amount necessary for replacement It went to 2.01, 2.05, but it did not reach 2.1 and then it fell again So it never hit replacement LOLOLOL!!!!! Why would you not figure that out? Holy shit kid it's bad when you're stupid in the first place, everybody has the occasional moment of stupidity. But to double down on the stupidity after it's been explained to you clearly and in detail is insanely embarrassing It never went high enough for replacement. Replacement is at least 2.1 and arguably 2.2 and the information I provided shows it did not reach that Quote "That which doesn't kill me... Had better start running."

SpankyMcFarland Posted February 1 Report Posted February 1 (edited) Here’s yet another example of Trump’s contempt for personal and diplomatic norms. On the planes issue, he could simply have behaved like a normal head of government and relayed his concerns to ambassador Hoekstra who could have had a quiet word with the relevant minister in Canada. Anybody remotely familiar with the politics of powered flight knows that the public expects certification to be independent of political pressure, esp. after the disasters Boeing has had in recent years. In this case there do seem to be delays certifying a few planes which could be speeded up in a way that does not endanger safety. But no, Trump had to threaten Canada publicly again in a way that, if carried through, would impact both civilian travel and the military in the US because he so enjoys doing that. The Duck Posted April 12 Report Posted April 12 On 8/7/2025 at 2:30 PM, I am Groot said: We overregulate EVERYTHING. At all levels. It isn't just a federal thing. Municipal governments have massive bureaucracies and an enormous amount of regulations governing building anything, even a shed or garage. A couple I know renovated a triplex they'd bought and the amount of forms and inspections they had to endure was unreal. No, you can't just have _A_ inspector. You need a bunch of separate inspections. And not just at the end, but as you go along. Build something new on a new plot? God help you. Not only are builders restricted in where and what they can build (greenbelts are horrible), but they have to endure years of forms, hearings and committees AFTER they've bought the land, leaving it essentially a useless drain on funds all the while. It can take ten years for a housing development to finally be approved. And the costs the municipality and province apply to each home are unreal. Land transfer fees, development charges and taxes add close to $300k to the price of every new house built in major Ontario cities. It's twice that in BC. The other Day I was inquiring at City Hall about placing a 20 Ft. Seacan into my Yard. They told me I need a Building Permit becouse it is a Structure. Quote
