August1991 Posted June 2, 2025 Report Posted June 2, 2025 We foreigners are proud - our flag, language. I am surprised that any foreigner is surprised when an American does the same. 1 1 Quote
August1991 Posted June 11, 2025 Author Report Posted June 11, 2025 Newfoundland is Catholic and Protestant. Newfoundlanders get along. Canada is both English and French, Catholic and Protestant. we sometimes vote by language, religion. Our team. Quote
Michael Hardner Posted June 11, 2025 Report Posted June 11, 2025 (edited) Canada is also "native" foundationally. But... WHO is surprised by American patriotism? It's not really something that happens to a significant degree IMO ie. People being surprised by an aspect of culture that's pervasive The cultural lens always blots out blind spots though, and generally I agree that THAT is a thing Edited June 11, 2025 by Michael Hardner Quote Looks like someone has a new patronizing catch phrase ! August1991 Posted July 24, 2025 Author Report Posted July 24, 2025 Trump is a nationalist - he is proud of his country. Carney? Not so much. ==== IMHO, this guy Poilievre should have stood up for Canada, including his wife. 1 Quote
August1991 Posted August 12, 2025 Author Report Posted August 12, 2025 Trump is doing what many leftwing, progressive Canadians are doing. He is encouraging Americans to buy local. 1 Quote
paxamericana Posted August 12, 2025 Report Posted August 12, 2025 (edited) Lets establish the fact that in America we have what is called the French-Louisiana purchase. Many of the settlers came from France Acadia. America have a french speaking population like Canada who are their direct descendent. However, their numbers are becoming fewer with each generation. @August1991 Edited August 12, 2025 by paxamericana Quote

Learn about what John Cabot did once landing in PEI. Quote Its so lonely in m'saddle since m'horse died.

Nationalist Posted September 5, 2025 Report Posted September 5, 2025 (edited) *sigh* Here's what's going on in Australia. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/czjmre371l1o And Ireland. https://www.newstatesman.com/politics/northern-ireland/2025/06/irelands-anti-immigrant-rage-will-not-go-away And Germany. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cpqlyr02125o And why? Well try actually READING and UNDERSTANDING the common thread...for once. The Liberal ideal that Western Nations must accommodate WAY too many migrants all at once, has CAUSED this Nationalist uproar. And...normally calm accepting people...are roaring. That the MSM and Liberal politicians use terms like NAZI and FAR RIGHT WING is of no consequence... it's at the point now that those terms no longer mean jack. So...Libbies...your own ideology CREATED and AMPLIFIED anti-immigration and Nationalist leanings in the general public. You made us. Enjoy that.
