I know a man - Canadian - who was killed in August 1944, in France.  He died in a crash in a Lancaster bomber.

The French created a remarkable memorial site for him, and the other six men. The site is like Stonehenge.

Why?

He was born in Canada.

Why did he die in 1944, and the French build a remarkable stone monument.

How about SALT, and the US budget.

User, what's your opinion?

What does any of that have to do with your complete inability or refusal to be more descriptive on the actual subject of this thread?

Well if you lived the better part of 5 years under the Nazi's, you might have at least some amount of gratitude toward the people who died trying to liberate you.

The Dutch sure haven't forgotten and make sure they pass it on to their children. This question is a good example of how we don't do the same.

Nazis? 1930s?

IMHO, the great disaster started in Summer 1914.

An elite said it would be a short war. And in 1912, the smart people engineers said the boat would never sink.

We're discussing the connection between the Titanic and August 1914.

Your thoughts?

1944 was WW2 and Paris was liberated from the Nazi's in August. You should quit whatever it is you are on.

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.
