Aristides Posted Monday at 07:51 PM Report Posted Monday at 07:51 PM South Korea makes unsolicited proposal Delivery times far in advance of anything we could buy from the US or Europe. The KSS III is an interesting submarine. A diesel electric sub capable of 20 days submerged and a submerged speed of 20 kts. 1 Quote
Army Guy Posted Monday at 09:49 PM Report Posted Monday at 09:49 PM They make good products, for both their navy and army, they even produce the the T-50 jet trainer but i think the navy said they are very interested in the Type 212 CD....who knows now what the liberals will pick for a sub....that being said the french are also pushing there Nuk design Saffron.....which is most likely the only nuk sub with a short build time....Uk/ US are having issues , or working on the next gen sub... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_212CD_submarine https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KAI_T-50_Golden_Eagle You should take a look at the new destroyer, and guess what it costs....currently we could get almost 6 plus of them for the same price as our frigates, extremely short building times, including American weapon systems. with advanced Korean systems... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sejong_the_Great-class_destroyer or the next generation which is more expensive , and relys less on American weapons' systems... https://www.navalnews.com/naval-news/2025/02/the-next-phase-of-south-koreas-kddx-destroyer-program/ On the army side....i think Germany has that all sown up, with the Leopard, german MRLS, PH-2000, TWO kinds of IFV vehs...and all the air defense we need...Sweden also has top notch IFV, and the world best in class wheel arty... 1 Quote We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. herbie Posted Tuesday at 12:25 AM Report Posted Tuesday at 12:25 AM We'd be stupid not to give their stuff a look. Tack that on to the bullshit like the spare parts we buy for F35s aren't actually ours until their put on the place - the USA can decide they're needed somewhere else and take them from here to some other country. They did exactly that to Denmark (who they're also f*cking over) by taking parts out of Denmark and sending them to Israel for their F36s. Ignoring Denmark's no arms to Israel policy. We should be looking at Gripens with RollsRoyce engines to avoid shitf*ckery (thxs Aussies for the most fitting word) like this. 1 Quote

Your full of shit, US can not pull spare parts out of some other nations inventory...they can ask to redirect parts but it is up to host nation who has paid for them.... Grippens....are gen 4 aircraft, might as well buy F-18 e/f if thats the route your going....The air force spent billions of dollars in testing and grippens place a distance 4th our of 5 Aircraft, one justin disqualified, two quit, leaving f-35 and gripen... F-35 was chosen by our air force for good reason....keeping the grippen for 40 years in not an option, F-35 is a gen 5 fighter and cheapest out there, with much more growth potential....want to buy european go with the euro fighter or french fighter....at much more cost... Aristides Posted yesterday at 03:35 PM Author Report Posted yesterday at 03:35 PM Going with the Gripen might only make sense if we skipped Gen 5 fighters entirely and used it as a bridge to 6th gen fighters which will be coming out around the middle of the next decade. Quote
Aristides Posted yesterday at 08:02 PM Author Report Posted yesterday at 08:02 PM Should we get involved in this? Formerly the Tempest Project Quote
