Saying the exact opposite of the truth is called a lie. It wasn't a mere exaggeration (still a lie) or minimization (still a lie) or a minor omission (still a lie), he told one of the biggest lies of all, which is just the exact opposite of what he knows to be true. The only worse lie is a slander, and he already did that to the Globe and Mail. 

The fact that he lied might not be a big deal to you, Adam Schiff, and Mark Carney, but some people care about those kinds of lies. It's nothing like "It didn't rain during my 17-minute inauguration speech"... "Yes it did: 17 droplets fell between the 13:01 mark and 13:10." It was a huge lie about an extremely important subject, an he said it directly to all Canadians, right at the debate.  

 

Now what you have to do is temper every declarative statement that he ever makes again with a huge question mark. Because he also lied about meeting JCC, helping Martin balance the budget back while he was in college lol, lied about meeting with the JCCC, and lied by a gross exaggeration about the size and scope of his role in averting the '08 recession. The credit that carney was trying to take belongs with the PM (Harper), the Finance Minister (Flaherty), and most notably from Carey's POV, this guy:

So, for example, when Carney says that he told Trump to pound sand, that might be a complete falsehood. Maybe he said: "What's it worth to you?"

You have to admit there's a very real possibility that he did that. He hasn't lived in Canada for ten years, he could easily live out the rest of his days in Bermuda or the Caymans, where he hides all of his money to avoid paying taxes on it.

Right now you should have zero trust for Carney. None. He's actually a serial liar. He's only been in the public eye for a few months here and he's already become famous for saying a lot of important things that are the exact opposite of the truth.

Carney was a senior BOC and Dept of Finance official since 2003, i.e.  in the Martin government   
 

Carney was largely celebrated for his stewardship of the BOC. He didn’t become the first non-British governor of the bank of England in its centuries-long history for nothing.

Well, if he brought up the 51st state it certainly does not sound like he was respecting our sovereignty during the call. Let's be honest here. Carney wanted to appear like he had Trump under control, and he lied about it. It was also reported that the same source who told this to the media also said that Carney told Trump that he would have to talk tough about him and America, but was looking forward to working with him. The lie isn't about whether or not Carney theoretically stood up for Canada dummy.

No, I do not. And Carney CLEARLY exaggerated his own role in '08, to the point where it was throughly disgusting. It was a total lie for him to take the credit as if he was the leader in that regard. So he lied, plain and simple. Exaggerating is lying if you wanna get technical, but it's extremely rare to see anyone try to get away with an exaggeration of this magnitude. He basically tried to steal full credit for something that he clearly did not do away from two dead men (Fin Min J. Flaherty and SCCJ Estey) and a former PM.
