Also, Eggs are still pretty cheap compared to other foods, these prices suck, but if you stop eating eggs because they went from about 20 cents each to about 40 cents each... Well if he actually does mass deportation then that will greatly spike food prices. If he actually does tarrifs, those will get passed onto higher price of consumer goods. It's very possible that both of these are just lies he told yokels to get elected. Overall his approach to most policies looks like it's going to a brute force blunt instrument style that will lack nuance and expertise and will eventually have far-reaching destabilizing effects. His cabinet is stacked with billionaires and corporate interests who will be given free reign to deregulate everything for their own benefits. It will be a new guilded age for the wealthy and while they are making a big show for the culture war via powerless executive orders, the real test will be the legislative agenda. Last time the only big law they passed was a tax cut for the rich. So far the only legislative goal I've heard is extending that tax cut, and toying with the idea of cutting the child and education tax credits when they do. But really doubt any of the promises he's made to ordinary people will make it to the legislative agenda. Why would they? 1 Quote

That is a fair example... but his policies on lowering energy prices and the inevitable push to automate and reduce manpower as prices increase would have some offset there as well. We also don't know for sure what they will push for in a better immigration bill, that will likely include some kind of better work permit plan. Tarrifs seem to be used more as a threat and if they do go through, that will increases prices, so again, a fair point. 21 minutes ago, Matthew said: Overall his approach to most policies looks like it's going to a brute force blunt instrument style that will lack nuance and expertise and will eventually have far-reaching destabilizing effects. His cabinet is stacked with billionaires and corporate interests who will be given free reign to deregulate everything for their own benefits. I welcome his approach. After the last administration, he came in the same as others do and he was screwed over for it. All these federal agencies did what they wanted to, the people he appointed were more political connections and recommended "experienced" people from the establishment. He is doing it right this time, appointing like-minded people he can trust to carry out his vision, people of action, that will go into these agencies and run them, not let these bureaucrats sabotage his administration. You guys throw around the term billionaire like it is a pejorative. These are successful people who are sacrificing their time to work for us and put their talents to use. 26 minutes ago, Matthew said: It will be a new guilded age for the wealthy and while they are making a big show for the culture war via powerless executive orders It is no more a show or culture war than it was when Biden was pushing this madness. It is only bad and a culture war when we fight back. 27 minutes ago, Matthew said: Last time the only big law they passed was a tax cut for the rich. Another lie, we have had this discussion before.
