Aristides misses the US relegating itself to the backseat on virtually everything - somehow, the stench of failure in this country gets him off. Quote

impartialobserver Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 This is why you need to do further analysis other than blaming it on Trump.... https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/12/business/inflation-cpi-report-january.html do not know if the link is behind a pay wall so sorry if it is. Quote

Even in this clear cut example you cannot bring yourself to admit that a breakout of bird flu in 2022 is something Trump should not be blamed for. Did you have any issue with high egg prices while Biden was president or did you give him a pass? impartialobserver Posted February 12 Report Posted February 12 This type of simple thinking is why politics are a joke. Just because person X is President, does not mean that they are responsible for prices for good Y going up or down. Quote

So in that respect he has kept his promise, only the opposite of what people wanted. Quote

Except, the difference is, about 4 Trillion in new wasteful spending that we can point out that happened under Biden including all the increased regulatory actions he took, including his hostile actions towards energy production. It will drive up the costs of manufacturing for those using steel and aluminum just for starters. It’s a prediction based on what has happened every other time tariffs have been used in an attempt to manipulate markets, including the last time Trump applied metal tariffs. But certain folks will feel good because there will be less immigrants and there will be less foreign produced goods coming in. As to how much inflation increases (or not).. that is nothing but prediction. Anyways, back to the point.. if you analyze the current data you find that its not quite so cut and dry as saying that Trump caused it deliberately. Quote

It will be devastating to things like your auto and every other industry that operates on small profit margins and it will drive up the prices of what they produce and make them less competitive in international markets. A big reason you import aluminum from Canada is it takes massive amounts of electricity to produce it. We have the hydro electric power to do it and you don’t. Just another reason your sh!thead in chief wants to annex us. Edited February 12 by Aristides Quote
