Where are you getting the pump infrastructure to send sea water up to these tanks in the middle of a fire in time to help put out fires in progress... when they already have an overwhelmed pump system incapable of sending water up to these tanks... AND these systems are fresh water systems used by homes... so you don't design them to use sea water. If you have time to design them to use sea water, you have time to design a large enough fresh water system.

Oh, well you do need all this stuff in place in advance.

Like experts have said. There was nothing LA could do because...all the issues mentioned above, farmers, smelts, and no end of whiny right wingers complaining about having to pay for something they think is for bullshit.

You will say any lie.

We are talking about LA, run by the most left wing folks whose budgets can be as woke and climate change friendly as their hearts desire.

I already explained what could be done in advance. Enough of your stupid dishonesty.

in CALIFORNIA!?!?!   Climate change got "shouted down" because its "too woke" in California.  That's your position is it.

Tell me you're clueless without telling me.

At least as woke as Trudeau who bought an oil pipeline and built another alongside it.

You don't seem to understand that when close to half your population thinks something is bullshit that costs a fortune it takes the wind out of any government to spend anything on it.

It would certainly help but the reservoirs they had were all full when this started. There really was nothing anyone could do when the winds blew as hard as they did.

Between that, Jewish space lasers, weather control satellites and an assortment of lefties what are you gonna do?

Have you ever considered Pinochet's approach?

You clearly have no clue about American politics, or California politics, or LA politics let alone anything about fighting fires.

You are not an honest person to engage with.

Yes I am and that's why you always run away and hide when we engage.

But yes, I was a volunteer firefighter on a department in a community surrounded by thousands of sq km of dense forest.

Then there's the years I spent working in the bush as a foreman and project manager involving oversight of 15-25 man crews, mobilizing, equipment, and vehicles including helicopters, training, logistics, first aid etc. Gathering up and dealing with material from a forest's floor was pretty much exactly what we did.

And what was it again in terms of real world background, experience or anything else that might give anyone the sense you have a clue about this topic of discussion?

Be honest now.

How about you start with getting some more integrity.

Funnily enough we have the same thing in Canada and it's called equalization. Albertans are always b*tching about it.

Right wingers are always going on about high taxation levels in California. Maybe they wouldn't be so high if they weren't sending so much money to the rest of the country.

Bunch of ungrateful c*nts.

What's that got to do with your claim that properly preparing for a fire that they knew was coming was shouted down because of climate change and wokeism in California?

You make these bullshit statements and then when you're challenged on them you run around like chicken little.

We all know it's coming.

I didn't say it was shouted down. I said that politicians knew it would be shouted down if woke concerns about climate change were the reason for s̶t̶e̶a̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ spending taxpayers hard earned money -  they simply found it easier to do so on other stuff and took the path of least resistance.

So is there any evidence of right wing protesters calling for money to be spent preparing for something that might not happen because of something they don't give a shit about?

No, these warnings are specific to a specific area and we're given to a specific group that has specific responsibilities for that area. I doubt very much you received or read any specific reports dealing with preparedness and recommended changes in Southern California for firefighting

Well that's not what you said and even if it was what you said I doubt very much the politicians in california especially Southern California believed that it wasn't worth bringing something up because it would get shouted down for any reason involving wokeism or climate change or the like.

There's no evidence that the right played a role at all in the decisions in Southern California. In fact it's an extremely left-wing area. The politicians tend to be left wing, it votes left-wing federally, it is seen as a hotbed of left-wing activity.

Which is why it's Highly Questionable but you would claim that they didn't move forward because of fears of people criticizing them for wokeism and left-wing thinking regarding climate change of all things

So why didn't it get done? I saw Mel Gibson gibbering something about conspiracies to Laura Ingraham the other day, is that what you mean? Apparently there's a lot of that going around these days.

Well don't forget you got the Mel, Jeff and Arnold's of the world influencing impressionable minds. Politicians can't be too careful.

IIt appears there is a correlation between obesity and global warming, kind of a chicken and egg thing.

Global warming causes people to get fat (too much ice cream on hot days I guess) and fat people contribute to global warming through excessive consumption (about 20% more than fit people). Given the epidemic of obesity, fat people are now the leading cause of global warming.

So... instead of cleaning up brush piles and investing in early detection, aerial application, LAFD manning, electrical grid updates and the like, all that's needed is remedial fitness training for fatties (RFTFF).

Look Robo... I can do it too, and here's video evidence that I'm right DUH.

In the last 5 years this video has been viewed almost 200 times so it must be true DUH

Prove this isn't causal DUH

Robo... here's something else for your superior intellect to chew on with regard to child obesity levels DUH

This is all your fault DUH

According to the results of a longitudinal cohort analysis published in SSM – Population Health, U.S. researchers found that healthy children (under age 10) were increasingly likely to voice conservative beliefs as older adults (over age 64). This difference arose independently of academic history, personality, or later-life health. The association was propelled by children with better health, and childhood health may somehow impact social forces resulting in adult political attitudes.

OK, I'm done now... any chance of a return rational considerations here?

The Santa Ynez Reservoir was empty when the Pallisades fire started.

So why didn't it get done?

Too busy focusing time and money/resources on sheltering illegal mexicans and other woke policy, not enough focus on their core responsibilities.

Which is the same thing that happens whenever you lefties get into power. You could say the same of trudeau quite easily.

Why not? They've had right wing governments before.

Not in the last 30  years or more. Arnie was technically a republican but ran very much on the left.

But i love that you're still trying to blame conservatives for what the woke left has broken ;)

California is very left. And they are a mess, financially and business is fleeing the state and they are not focusing on core issues which means they get more disasters and on and on it goes.

Whenever the left gets into power this is what we see. It's just a matter of time
