I really liked my visit there. However, Hurricane Milton is supposed to be the worst hurricane ever to hit Florida, and unlike Katrina, it is going to hit the metro area flush, which means the entire city is right now expected to be underwater. As many as 5 million people are evacuating. It is conceivable that the city will never recover, if it hits the place where it is projected to.

the peninsula looks like it’s going to get washed away (goodbye, John’s Pass), and the lower lying areas are going to get mega flooded, but Tampa will recover.  It’s a cool city.
