But Harris can lose. She may say something stupid - a horrendous word salad.

Like when he tried to answer a question about affordable child care  by claiming in a very round about way that HIS TARIFFS would "tax foreign nations," and would close the child care gap FOR EVERYONE.

I anticipate that she'll destroy him on facts and logic (as any attorney should) during an imperfect performance. Base will applaud that. 

His base will not care a bit and will think that snarky remarks and shouting constitute a win (as they always do). 

Independents will prefer Harris.

BTW, doubling tariffs on China and other countries will tank the US economy, increase inflation, and probably create a recession. Economics 101.
