Some of you still don't understand what news is. The fact you heard about some outfit ripping off TFWs is news because it is not a normal everyday event. That's why you don't hear about people bitten by a dog unless they're literally ripped to rat shit or killed.

And the ripping off by unscrupulous employers only happens because the temps desperately need work, are unaware of labour laws or too scared to challenge the boss. That's why farm workers started to unionize and why that head of lettuce went up in price. The cost of dirt and water didn't.

Young ppl want to work in construction, trades, retail, restaurants, summer recreation, lawn care, landscaping, etc. You name it. They just don't want to work for horrible employers like Burger King, Walmart, Tim Horton, but will accept it if they must. This generation is the hardest working one yet.

I think you should get out more, and actually see what todays young ppl (16-24) are doing. 

Stop with the "only immigrants can work hard' BS.

It happens far more than what is reported in the news. And it's not born Canadians ripping off TFWs. It's mainly South Asians that are responsible, taking advantage of young and vulnerable people coming from South Asia. This is well known to just about anyone in most cities.

I can say with 100% certainty that South Asians go to trucking schools run by South Asians, and all they care about is $$$. If you got the cash, you get the driving class 1 or 3 license. It was embarrassing in Calgary in 2018, after the Humboldt tragedy. Spotting the Canadians who went through proper channels was a breeze. Spotting the South Asians that were not trained properly was a nightmare. It took considerable time and stress.  

The Government has to step in, and close off these "driving schools."

Have you ever done research into those "companies?" Most of them are scams. Igt reminds me of when I worked for a bike courier for 5 weeks, and my check for 120 hours (3 weeks) was $125.50. I quit on the spot, since they found a loophole in the law (that has since been closed) to rip off ppl. Nobody should work for $1 an hour, yet I did jsut that in 2001 in May/June.

Young Canadian workers stuck in a job like this, will often grumble, give bad service and just not be as efficient as a newcomer. The job is beneath many.

Newcomers are helping family back home, so don't have time to feel sorry for themselves. Or to be angry at their low pay, when they can just get 2-3 jobs.

I just don't see why such an employer would want to hire typically whiny Canadian youth, when they could hire someone who would take the job as seriously as you would a career.

My wife has never had a bad day at work (of course she has, but her personality would make it that you would never know). Any of her jobs, people are in shock at how nothing affects her.

I'm the only one who knows her struggles, and this very persevering nature these women have to have, is why once hire, often times, employers end up not wanting any other type of employee.

I have been to clinics with very rude staff. To me, if I own one, I would have all Filipina nurses.

My wife was an operations director back home at a hospital, and the level of knowledge she has, would bring shame to many of the nurses I have dealt with, here.

She's just humble, so wouldn't correct a nurse giving her incorrect information.

Soon we will wake up and as Europe is doing now, we will close our borders to foreigners too. Hopefully sooner than later before it is too late and before we witness the riots we are witnessing in United Kingdom and rest of Europe. There is a limit to tolerance and understanding.
