The one exception is when he paid a sex worker out of campaign funds and tried to cover it up.

He didn't make the payments out of campaign funds... because then it would have been a campaign funds violation.

So, by following the law the Democrats still went after him for not making it a campaign expense and declaring it as such.

Donald Trump was prosecuted under the laws of the State of New York and a jury found him guilty of 34 felonies. He will be sentenced next month and prison time is a definite possibility.

Yes, on an absurd manipulation of the law that will almost certainly get thrown out on appeal, never mind the absurd jury instructions.

Implying that a woman in a position of power is a wh0re doesn't resonate in 2024 like it did in 19 74.

I think he's pointing out that  a woman who blows her boss for years to get ahead is a whore. That still resonates fine :)

If anything it drives people into his camp.

Nah.  If it does then you might want to come visit us in canada for a bit. ;)   but i doubt  that case survives appeal.

And of course if he wins the election all the charges go away.

The Democrats did not go after Trump. The FBI did.

...and yet you still support a man like that.  At least you admit (or at least imply) that Trump will be an autocratic leader, if he wins the election.

Reminds of a certain nation that allowed a small eccentric Austrian to lead them.

It was not the FBI. A Democrat DA ran a campaign on getting Trump and then devoted their time to contorting the law any way they could to bring charges...

Well no - autocratic is something else. It would be within the normal powers of the presidency. hell nixon managed to get himself pardoned  :) You're misusing the word.

I certainly wouldn't be interested in supporting the team that came up with fake charges in the first place and used them to try to repress their political opponent.  THat's some serious banana republic crap.  It should be punished, otherwise it just encourages the same thing next time.

And that would be the truth. Mix in a strong democrat judge who's daughter was actually making cash hand over fist from the court case and you've got a pretty corrupt dem weaponization of the court system.

I love how this was never a big issue in modern American history until Trump came along, and convinced everyone the system and media was against him.

Like when has the system been against a billionaire who has been bankrupt numerous times, and bailed out constantly, and was allowed to not serve in Vietnam for a fictitious reason.

The man does not have your best interests in mind. However, he does encourage people to hate and be divisive,  so if you want to bring others down, Trump is your man i guess.

It never happened.  This is new.  It has never happened before in us history.  The Americans have a very strong tradition that you do not use the courts to go after presidents or nominees except for the most serious of crimes (of course a sitting pres can always be impeached but even that has now changed).

Lets be clear - some charges against trump are legit and while  he may be found innocent in the end (possibly) they are serious charges and he should have to answer them.

But a lof of this is absolute nonsense and is purely for political reasons. Felony bookkeeping? That's a first in us history and completely made up. The nature of it is ridiculous, and it wouldn't have been even a misdemeanor crime in any other part of the country.  The civil fraud case was beyond ridiculous. Hundreds of millions in fines for a crime with zero victims and no complaint.

The dems have done something new. This has not been done before.  So of course it wasnt a big issue in the past.

I think you went a little off track there :)

IF that's all i cared about i'd vote trudeau :)

Trump isn't MY man,  i won't be voting for either of them.  but while i see trump as a bit of a buffoon, the fact is hes' actually decent (not legendary as he'd have you believe but decent) at the job and a stronger american economy is better for canada.

Oh and don't bother with the usual propaganda cherry picked snapshots that try to suggest biden's eocnomy is doing well. It isn't, and i'm a little bit too educated to fall for the usual nonsense.

Trumo was the worst president in US history, when it came to jobs and the economy.

ROFLMAO!!!! Holy shit kid - have another drink and read a book when  you sober up :)   LOL  he wasn't even remotely close to the worst :)

His economy did pretty decent. If covid hadn't come along we'd have said it was a fairly healthy time in the american economy. Certainly better than biden as we're seeing now with the us collapsing into a recession after biden's runaway inflation.

And harris is just a joke, and has no skills whatsoever to run the economy. So it'll be someone in the shadows doing it and that's not healthy.

Wait, haven't you heard that if some economic challenge comes along during a Republican administration, we don't count those effects when we grade them?

Oh look who's coming to spout the party line again in defiance of the facts :)

You were the one that said the economy has never been better and couldn't possibly be going wrong. That was right before stock market suggested in light of the current expected recession.

The government spending as I prove to you in extreme detail creates a false sense of economy where there isn't one. That can only last for so long before it collapses in upon itself which is what is happening now.

Again the proof was provided to you in extreme detail. But you never choose to look at the facts or the truth. And you're mind every day is a good day under the democrats no matter what the reality is and if it turns out to be a bad day it was republicans fault anyway.
