I think it's proof that they're the finest thinkers in the world that they'd know enough to stay away from politics.   

Joking aside their system is set up to reward and promote the wrong things in polticans.  What does doing what's best for the country get you? Slandered in the paper if you're lucky.  You can't get anywhere if you can't be a good donor magnet, so really it rewards salesmen skills more than statesman skills.  

They would have to make a few changes to really improve that. Not impossible ones by any stretch but it's just unlikely.

Why not? Venn Diagrams are an excellent tool for describing data.  But your YouTube video never bothered to show us the diagrams, so how can you judge the analysis?
