And the choice is all yours. The current trend of unprincipled right wing demagoguery, where obviously false misinformation talking points become dogma and parroted slogans far predates trumps days in politics. I think the first time I started to witness it was 90s AM talk radio, in the politics surrounding the iraq war, and really heigtening as the so-called tea party movement turned into a anti-Obama movement. That must have been about when the brain worm got you. Every politician going back to ceaser and before has 'talking points' and people either agree with them or not. That's the same with all parties in all countries in all time periods, thanks for noticing. But the idea that the leader is some sort of never-to-be-questioned person ESPECIALLY in the republican party simply doesn't stand up. What we have witnessed is the increase in hyperpartisanship, which is exemplified by your post. We've seen it before but it's been a long while, and now we see it a lot. And the dems are the worst for it (this time around)
myata
See how the liars want to make it only about different "talking points" regardless of their connection to the reality and truth? They exist in their own world where the reality is secondary to their objectives and they can blow it like a bubble. But bad, bad for you when it bursts as it does, always. The reality will continue to exist, and will always catch up no matter the temperature of the lies. Watch Venezuela. 1 hour ago, Matthew said: The current trend of unprincipled right wing demagoguery, where obviously false misinformation talking points become dogma and parroted slogans far predates trumps days in politics To be fair I'm not sure this trend can be attributed solely to one side of the politics. It's the binary system that makes it a zero sum game: it's much easier for any politicians to score points by blaming the arch-opponent than by showing a real record of achievement. As all animals, politicians adapt to their environment, incentives and stimuli. Quote If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant

myata
He said those things; he tried to do some of them. And the logical outcome of them is right before our eyes. Let's understand what has transpired here. That extreme right in Europe we're hearing about, it works entirely, 100% within the democratic political system. Never, ever it questioned the foundations of democracy, such as the legitimacy of democratic elections. Netherlands, Italy, France, Slovakia: it just doesn't happen. The Republican party just whizzed by and through this red line first by tolerating it, and then encouraging with repeated nomination, shrugging it off like a normal, regular thing. And it didn't even as much as notice. It took the tiniest of nudges to dive into it happily, "the unity". This is what happened here: the party is taking itself outside of the framework and foundations of democracy. In its current views, now stamped and sealed with the nomination, it's perfectly fine to claim elections they don't like "stolen"; refuse to certify them; "find" the votes needed even fraudulently; encourage social discontent and riots; spread outrageous lies. You know something, right? This is no democracy: democracy just doesn't look like that. It's the third world. Chavez and Maduro do that. Putin does that, routinely. So what if it becomes normal and acceptable, and even encouraged? Now we can see where this path would take the society and the country. And we wouldn't be able to claim we didn't know. myata
What is important to see and understand here: none of this can be shrugged away. This is not possible now. Either, it's the new normal and then, very likely: the standard. Or, it is rejected and sanctioned, in the strongest terms possible in democracy to discourage any and all attempts to try that again. Only two options and nothing in between. Don't even dream that you can hide this sh*t away by pretending to not notice the smell. Yes: it's still here. myata
And this is exactly why the brainless bunch will try their best, all time ever to pretend that the sh*t didn't happen. Maduro and Putin know how it's done and they now, too. No. This isn't going anywhere. The new de facto normal, and standard. Or rejection and sanction. No other options, in this reality. Don't even dream that this kind of sh*t could just go away, disappear miraculously, if only we refuse to see and admit it. myata
Bullsh*t is not a valid answer. Sh*tting in other people homes is just sh*tting: there are no explanations or comforting etc. The stupidest idea of gaining respect of others is sh*tting gratuitously and profusely in their homes. That just doesn't work, but try explaining it to a dead brain. This is not going anywhere. The new standard, or something to be condemned and sanctioned to discourage any attempts to try it again as the only options. We knew it and its our choice. myata
It was the dumbest idea of the dumb to believe even for a moment that this kind of sh*t could just go away, under a thin napkin of "unity". Pretend to not see it and like it doesn't exist - a toddler's kind of idea. Welcome to the new politics, by the way. Nope: it's not going anywhere, zero chance. Either its rejected utterly and condemned clearly to make any future liar think many times before trying something like that again. Or it'll become the new standard for every new loser loudmouth liar to stretch a bit further: all the way to Maduro, and why less? Yes, only two choices in any honest look. What surprises or miracles? Quote If it's you or them, the truth is equidistant
