This is an idi*tic post showing your total ignorance. That was my whole point of the post. This is not a culture of Aryan Iran this is an Arab semitic culture  Iranian culture is the majority who are fighting a brutal murderous Islamic regime to free Iran from this hated Arab culture and the religious which was spread like a plague by sword to her homeland. Why you don't post the picture of Iranian women who are fighting this backward hated Islamic culture and some died or are in prison but rather publish pictures of a tritor Arab loving minorities who for their own interests are helping the occupying Islamic regime?

This pseudo-feminism was used as propaganda for the war in Afghanistan. Let's start a war to give women access to education in a backward country. It worked so well.

True, if some stupid ships violate blockage and carry Iranian oil then they must be torpedoed and sank but in general not a single shot has to be fired.

This line is incredibly contradictory and hilarious.

Your first comment is another clear sign of your ignorance. What the hell is Afghanistan got to do with Iran. Afghanistan  is a backward country with overwhelming majority living like 1400 years ago. Iran is a civilization of 2500 years whose women are at the front to overthrow a backward Islamic regime which is a dead corps kept alive by force. In Afghanistan women don't even go to high school. In Iran 60% of university students are women and there are over 200 universities in Iran. Five time those in Canada.

No it wasn't contradictory but needed intelligence to understand it. I said no ground invasion or ariel bombardments (unlike Iraq or Afghanistan invasion) but at the worse scenario, a few ships may have to be torpedoed if and only if they violate the blockage and try to export Iranian oil which would be stupid if they do knowing that within minutes they will be sank and its crews would die.

We have been twenty years in Afghanistan. It's not like we quit at the 3rd period. It's like we were still there when the game was ended a generation ago when Mario Lemieux was still playing.

There was no "job to be done". It was pointless; the Afghans truly supported the Talibans after all. It's their culture.

Now name me one Middle East intervention that turned out well in the last 40 years.

We did leave in the early 3 rd period, pulled out our fighting forces and switched for a few years to teaching afghan police and military....then got out early once again for good in 2014....

Lots of jobs that needed to get done, we left because of pressure on our government from its citizens...which really stopped supporting the war years before that...it may of been pointless to you, but to regular afghan people NATO kept for the most part the taliban in check...Taliban rule by fear, they kill a few people in front of each village and tell them this is what is going to happen to you if you don't listen to us...not culture, thats fear/ terror...

Are you saying that because there has been no peace in the middle east that peace in Afghanistan was impossible...a full generation of young girls got an education, NATO built entire road net works for trade, built dams, hospital, fire stations , improved access to fresh water, how could those things not be counted as a positive influence...Not all Afghanis are taliban...

Peace in the region is a possibility, look at Israel and Egypt, Jordan, and others...

We, the willing, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have now done so much for so long with so little, we are now capable of doing anything with nothing.

better an organized withdrawal

instead of the chaotic rout that the Democrats incited after

at least Canada didn't leave billions worth of weapons behind for the Taliban to capture

in terms of a hockey anology

if it's not game seven of the Stanley Cup Final, all hockey teams cut their losses as early as possible

This region of the world is becoming less and less relevant as time passes by.

With fossil fuels being extracted locally in the West, with advancements in technologies when it comes to energy, we could cut off this entire part of the World and we would face a little bump in prices for a few years, and everything would come back to normal for us after a few years.

Saudi Arabia will not be able to fund its State any longer and will face coups after coups, a bloody civil war will happen there 100% in the next 20-25 years maximum to a scale like we've seen in Syria. Iran will try to remain in control of the Persian Gulf and its proxies in competition to the Saudis. Egypt will collapse from bad governance within a few years. Israel is led by extremists who are pushing for more wars. Lebanon is basically a shell of what is was in the 1960s and will never be what is was before.

Caring about this part of the World and actually act upon it geopolitically is the equivalent of a jackass putting his virile member in the hornest nest and shaking it throughly. There is nothing to gain from doing this stupidity.

There are a number of reasons America is concerned about the middle east.

A couple significant reasons are:

1.  Israel is an ally of the west and is the only real democratic country in the region.  We know some of the surrounding countries in the middle east are hostile to Israel and would like to eliminate it.  The west is committed to the security of Israel and will not allow that to happen.  We have seen what happened in Europe and Germany with the Holocaust.  That will not be allowed to happen again.

2.  The middle east is at the crossroads of Europe, Africa, and Asia and a major amount of trade passes through the Suez canal.

3.  The U.S. does sell a large amount of armaments to Saudi Arabia.  If America withdraws from the middle east, that could create a vacuum that Russia and/or China might take advantage of.  This could affect the balance of power in the world.  Also, Iran must be prevented from obtaining nuclear weapons.  That could be a threat to Israel and the west.  One of the important reasons why the west, particularly the U.S., is involved in some countries of the middle east is to try to keep peace in the region and prevent a major war.  We know how unstable it is now.

I guess the optics look different to those left holding the bag to continue the fight...The fight was not over...Canada and her citizens left us over there to do a job they had no interest in, which translated into no support, which meant no resources made available to us...

It was to us, who had seen friends and comrades take that slow walk hosted upon our shoulders in a flag draped coffin...which seemed to be a routine thing...it made that conflict personal to each and everyone that served there...it was a slap in the face of each soldier that served over there to just on day pick up, to look our partner forces in the eyes and say sorry we got to go...my country wants to quit...

And those soldiers that did not get a chance to serve over there had sacrificed everything, training resources, new equipment, basically everything so we as a nation could support "one battle group" in the field.... The entire Afghan conflict came out of DND budget...it built dams, roads, wells, everything including foreign affairs activates came out of DND budget...there was not extra drain on taxpayers...no extra drain on government resources....the only ones that carried the entire load was DND...And Canadians got tired of seeing it on the news and up and quit...

Canada is not a republic, there is no public rule in Canada

in this British North American Constitutional Monarchy

the Soldiers of the Crown took the  Queen's Schilling of their own free will

as professional mercenaries for the Sovereign

all that matters therein, is Regiment, Colours,  Commander-in-Chief

and the brothers to the left & right of you

that is what it is to be a Royal, that is what Royal means
