More manufactured outrage. There was an easter message from him on Sunday, which I believe is the holiest day. But on a weekend with 3 holy days he didn’t separately tweet on each one of them. Oh the horror. A quick google shows that he has sent a Good Friday message in the past, at least in some years.   
 

I thought conservatives were opposed to politically correct pandering but their panties are in a twist because there wasn’t enough of it for their particular favourite group this time. For most people easter is just about the bunny and candy and ling weekend anyway, so a lit of the so-called outrage is just being offended on behalf of someone else, for political purposes.

No that is clearly the right: Muslims, trannies, immigrants, liberals, Palestinians the list of the right’s Hated Ones is long, and the right’s track record of stating certain groups are “below the law” (ie undeserving of basic rights and fairness) is even longer. 
 

Most Canadians consider themselves “Christian” in the sense that they celebrate xmas, Easter etc,  are descended from Christians and participate in a Christian-based SOCIAL culture…but a very small minority of these people are truly deeply religious. Most have never gone to chiropractic as adult except for weddings and funerals, most have never read the bible and have no plans to, most find overtly religious people boring and off-putting, most believe Christianity is or “probably” is man-made. Most so-called Christians in this country are really agnostic of atheist-curious. Canadians are strongly secular and the religious right is not a political force in Canada except maybe Alberta.  There is no risk of a religious right takeover in Canada 

 

That said I can agree that the Prime Minister probably should be consistent year over year with their goodwill messages

He didn’t exclude. There was an easter message. Ramadan lasts 30 days they only got one message too, not one for each day.

The quote above is worth reading again regardless of political persuasion IMO.

Justifying bad behaviour (in all of its forms) simply because you support the stated objective is short sighted and inevitably bites back. Liberal progressives failed to look at this dispassionately and as a result it's leaving bruises. Imagine if the tactics they currently defend were suddenly deployed against them in equal and opposite measure. I bet they wouldn't like it. 

And Ironically, were that to happen, I think most conservative minded folks would oppose any form of draconian backlash on general principle.

Or at least they would have, now I'm not so sure and that may be a potential accelerant. Personally, my tolerance for absurdity has pretty much evaporated and based on national polling, I suspect others share that view. If elected, Trump plans to make 5 Nov "Christian Visibility Day" and I say great, get er done. See how that works?

I watched as liberals and Muslims deliberately used each other for political gain over the last (say) 8-10 years. Not out of shared values, it was simply a marriage of political expediency. Since most liberals didn't see it that way it was only a matter of time until values and expediency collided.

When it became clear that Muslims actually supported things like parental rights and were opposed to pornography in classrooms, liberal heads across the country started exploding.

I'm not sure they learned anything from it.

Identity politics, along with the manufactured wedge issues that pit people against each other can be an effective political tool if not overworked. But this poor little donkey has been overworked to the point of absurdity and beyond. Even donkey snarfing carnivores who can read polling results must see that.

no, that happened years before. The muslims rising up in protest of 'gay-days' and such and getting their kids to stomp on gay flags and doing the marches is far more recent.

What has happened as a result of the recent issues was laws in 3 provinces guaranteeing parental rights and looks like more to come. According to the advocates it was a pretty big deal.
