The reporting lead Trump’s sister to resign her post as a Federal judge, and The Don sued the Times. The suit was dismissed because it had no merit, and under New York’s SLAPP laws, Trump was fined and ordered to pay the Times’ legal fees to the tune of half a million dollars. 1 1 Quote @reason10: “Hitler had very little to do with the Holocaust.”

You don't get fined for bringing a lawsuit. He was told to pay their legal bills which were calculated to the penny. The judge agreed with the calculations and ordered trump to pay the legal fees. Being precise is important when you're talking about this kind of stuff and i'd think you'd been beaten over the head enough to get that by now He was ordered to repay fees, not fined. Most NDA’s have been struck down, and you can’t enforce an NDA if it prohibits disclosure of illegal activity, which is what Mary Trump alleged. Meanwhile, Don’s lost half a million, five million to Carroll, $250 to $500 million in the NY Civil fraud trial, and anywhere from $10 mil to $100 mill in the second Carroll suit.
