Wonder why there is not enough money for health care: blame Liberals squandering

Recommended Posts

"The Trudeau Liberals have spent $4.7 billion on their Middle East action plan, tackling extremism but also building “post-conflict strategies,” Hussen said."

"What in the actual holy hell is this????” one person asked on X. “Canadian taxpayers are supporting everyone in the world except Canadians. While food banks are feeding Canadian families, these traitors are giving our money to other countries like there’s no tomorrow. This is treason.”

Another commented, “Canadians (those fortunate enough to have decent jobs) work their asses off & send half their earnings to Ottawa so they can … give it away to Iraqis? We need to focus on Canadian youth, not foreign students and not those who have no connection at all to this country. What a mess!”

In another reply, a user posted, “That’s the Iraqi government’s problem, not the Canadian taxpayers’ problem.”

Trudeau and the Liberals are squandering taxpayer money on everything imaginable under the sun.  Billions of dollars have been spent on the so-called Middle East action plan.   Canadians have no say in all this.  Yet the health care system is failing, there is an acute housing shortage, and they are bringing in 500,000 immigrants in the next year and thereafter.

Hey, I hear your frustration about government spending, it's definitely a complex issue. While it's important to hold leaders accountable for budget decisions, diverting funds from one area to another doesn't necessarily solve the problem. Have you ever thought about exploring ways on how to make 10000 a month independently of government allocations?

What's that go to do with Health Care spending?

You think you can kick Joe in the nuts and it will help Ralph somehow?

I know that leftist like you believe that there is a magic endless supply of money. There isn't.

So the money that could have gone to health care transfers to help the provinces keep up with the huge population increase due to immigration was wasted on these things and as a result Canadians suffered.

Goodness - did you REALLY need that explained to you?

Anyone older than 30 should see right through that old myth. In my University days billion dollar budgets were headlines, now trillion dollar deficits are. Money is imaginary only dependent on what people believe it is. Hell look at Bitcoin... so imaginary and worth zero the moment an EMP or solar flare hits. People whining about power needs for EVs as they invest into gobbling huge amounts into sheer vapour.
Look at the main international currency, from where they still make pennies, believing they'll someday be worth something again. and paper $1 bills.

And this is why we can't afford health care :)

Have you considered being the finance minister for Greece?

Our federal government squandering money!? OUR government? But it's led by an economic genius who gets budgets to balance themselves! That's why it doesn't matter how much money we spend! Nobody wants to invest in anything but the real estate market anymore, so what do they do? Prop up the real estate market!  The government is now selling mortgage-backed bonds to investors (where did we see this before?). Only, well, it seems not many people want to buy them. So the government is buying them as well as selling them (where did we see THIS before?)!

But it's all in a good cause. It's to make mortgages cheaper! Sort of, but not really. Or, well, to make them seem cheaper by spreading the cost around. Including to people who can't afford to buy a house!

Just so we’re all on the same page, let’s quickly discuss Canada Mortgage Bonds (CMBs). Lenders originate mortgages, pool them, then sell the pools as mortgage backed securities (MBS) to the government. To fund the purchase, the government sells CMBs to investors to acquire funds. The cash flow from the MBS is then used to pay investors that bought the CMBs. In short, CMBs are state-backed securities to fund mortgage financing in Canada.

Starting this year, Canada doesn’t want to just sell and guarantee CMBs. In the 2023 Fall Economic Statement, they announced they’ll also become the buyer. They’ll purchase half of the 5- and 10-year CMBs, up to $30 billion. The government is essentially borrowing money to buy the investments they guarantee, with bonds they also guarantee. It’s even dumber than it sounds.

What do we need healthcare for?  Can’t health problems be solved with assisted suicide?  Priorities people!  We’ve got sex changes and abortions to pay for in Africa!

You think suicide drugs are FREE?!!?

Maybe we could build some sort of really high cliff people could jump off to save money.  Call it the Lemming memorial health center or something.

Sometimes taking control of our own financial situation can make a bigger impact in the long run.
