taxme Posted October 9, 2023 Report Posted October 9, 2023 I was shocked to hear that the socialist NDP won the election in Manitoba. Have the people in Manitoba not have enough of liberalism and socialism yet? I do not understand as to why the voters in Manitoba would want to vote in a socialist party that will only bring them more misery and pain. The people who voted for the NDP have pretty much now wrote off freedom of speech, and will now have their taxes risen and government get bigger. The country has pretty much had liberalism and socialism for decades now and what has those two isms done for Canada and Canadians? Well, they have both given us all more taxes, more government, and less freedom. I do not believe that most Canadians will ever learn about the evils of socialism which could lead to communism. And the Native Indian that won the election will no doubt be more concerned about Native Indian rights in Manitoba rather than with other people's rights. Aw well, some people will never learn. They seem to just want to get more butt kicks in their asses and the NDP will be glad to oblige. It would appear to me that Canadians are becoming dumber by the minute. How this country managed to survive this long is to me a bloody miracle. ? 1 Quote

I would guess that after a term they're not going to be too happy with the results. The left wing has been peddling snake oil for generations and they're good at it. "A chicken in every pot and a car in every garage" still sells well. Even when people KNOW the guy can't deliver, they still have that ounce of hope that leads them to think there's a chance. LIke buying a lotto ticket. We'll see how he does. If anything it should push people of that province to vote conservative next federal election as the provincial ndp disappoints. 1 1 Quote There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data
herbie Posted October 10, 2023 Report Posted October 10, 2023 Ah yes, the dreaded NDP, the Diet Pepsi of socialism. Reminds me of the old Social Credit under WAC Bennet who nationalized the railway, the ferries and BC Electric to 'keep the socialist hordes from the gates of Victoria". And the tourists here in their $150,000 motor homes telling us how Rachel Notley had made life unbearable in Alberta. 1 1 Quote

And how loud you gripe that someone else is stopping you from owning even more. Nor the hypocrisy of committing 'socialist' acts or even questioning them (medicare, ICBC, Autoplan, ALR, Greenspace etc) all the while portraying it the evil enemy. 1 Quote
