Laura Ann Carleton, a married mother of nine children, was shot and killed Friday outside her clothing store near Lake Arrowhead California by a person who had torn down the pride flag she was flying outside her business.

Religious Zealotry and far right media made for a potent combo, which cost this mother of nine her life.

My most heartfelt consolation to this woman family.

The suspect was a victim of right-wing religious hatred. He was probably a mentally unbalanced person who listened to MAGA nonsense all day and got convinced that he needed to do something “for the cause,” just as the January 6 insurrectionists did.
