After losing his bid for the Presidency, Al Gore agreed to join the Board of Directors of a failing, soon to be bankrupt computer company.  The Nobel Prize-winning Gore remains on the board of Apple Computer, which is now the first and only company in the world to have a value of $3 Trillion.

Imagine that: A business run by Democrats is more successful than every other company in the world.

Apple Computer’s revenues in one day exceed Trump’s net worth.

And here's a guy who put more CO2 in the atmosphere in one week of flying his  private jets than the average joe does in ten years of driving a regular fossil fuel car.

By the way, We'll wait patiently for you to  PROVE (with a reliable link) that any of your bullshit on this subject is true.  So far, it's just you're word, and you're the biggest fckin LIAR here.

Not exactly "Al Gore's company." Not even, (but more accurate to call it) Steve Job's company.

Al Gore's Climate Change Hypocrisy Is As Big As His Energy-Sucking Mansion

Gore's response was "Well, I don't have a private jet. And what carbon emissions come from my trips on Southwest Airlines are offset. I live a carbon-free lifestyle, to the maximum extent possible."

The maximum extent possible? Really? Then how does Gore explain the rather large amounts of electricity he uses to power his 10,000-plus-square-foot home.

A new analysis by the National Center for Public Policy Research found that Gore's Tennessee home "guzzles more electricity in one year than the average American family uses in 21 years."

Get someone with an education to read this to you. You aren't smart enough to read it by yourself.

By the way, sitting on some advisory board for a company as big as Apple doesn't make it HIS company.

Do you even understand what a "carbon emission offset" is? LMAO

The article cites a “study” by a biased policial conservative group called “National Center for Public Policy Research” and of course they’re funded by Big Oil, including Scaife and Exxon Mobil

IINM, that was right before Steve Jobs came back to run the company again.

TBH, I've never heard of a Board member leading a company turnaround.

Your recollection isn’t quite right. Steve Jobs didn’t turn Apple around overnight. Not by a long shot.  Jobs returned to Apple in 1997, and it took a while for him to unseat Amelio, then Jibs offered the board position to Gore in 2001. OS-X and iPod came out shortly after that, with iPhone not appearing until 2007… that’s what started Apple’s meteoric rise.

When Gore joined, and for many years after that, Apple was clawing its way to success. It took a long time and a lot of work.  Al Gore had MANY options to consider, and he chose Apple, which was falling into bankruptcy at the time.

Anybody could have invested in Apple in 2001… Gore had the genius to do it and it’s made him hundreds of millions of dollars.

Ummm - gore doesn't run apple.

Apple was started by one of the most cut throat capitalists the country has seen :) That's why he's a philanthopist now, he's trying to buy back his soul :)

Only the left would let an avid right winger build a company- then get elected to the board after it's already rich and claim it's their personal achievement  :) LOLOL!

Only an lDIOT would write a post with so many mistakes as ^this one. Only the first sentence is accurate.

1. Jobs AND Wozniak founded Apple. Wozniak was/is a LIBERAL. Jobs was more balanced.

2. Jobs is dead, not a "philanthropist."

3. Apple was near bankruptcy when Gore joined the Board.

“Businesses go up and down”?  That’s laughable.
Gore joined the Board of a nearly bankrupt company over twenty years ago and now it’s the largest company on earth, worth over $3 Trillion.

ROFLMAO !!!!!  Are you KIDDING?  You DID NOT KNOW that businesses often go up and down in value or success?!!?  You figure that they always stay the same did you :)   HAAAHAHAHAAH - that's hilarious!  Have you even ever worked in the private sector?

Sure - like a lot of people on the left gore attached his name to a strong company that was restructuring and building and then rode on the coattails of some very talented designers and capitalists to have his name associated with successful people.

But he didn't do anything.  He's like a 'producer' who adds his name to the writers credits on tv shows so he can say he 'wote' a successful series when he had nothing at all to do with the writing.

Pretty sad.

Tell us how many shares of Apple you bought in 2021. Cause you’d be a multimillionaire right now if you had.

Al Gore had the genius and you did not.  Near bankrupt and failing to largest company in the world. That’s not “ups and downs” by any means.  They make $1 Billion a day, and Al Gore has sat at the very highest level of management of the company throughout that entire period.

What the eff are you talking about? its a LITTLE higher right now than 2021 but nobody would be getting rich off of the increase. Its modest at best!

Yes - al gore had the 'genious' of taking a fake job with a NUMBER of companies hoping one of them would do well and he'd look successful on other people's work.

Frankly - i'm not exactly ashamed i don't think like that :)

Gore bought into Apple in 2001, not 2021. Did you? He picked the greatest growing stock in history.

If serving on a corporate Board of Directors is a “fake job,” I’d like to see you do it.

Look - we already know you're an !diot. You don't have to convince us like that.

Yeah, actually i did own some around then.  I had a few tech stocks, some did better some died.  I sold it off later and did well with it.  It's had it's periods of growth and periods where it didn't grow.  The tech meltdown of the late 90's put every tech company on the hotplate, and some survived and did well and some did not.

But it wasn't al gore who fixed it :)

Iv'e served on boards before :)   The main reason he would be there from the company's point of view is for his rolodex.  He can be dumb as a stump but he knows people having served in politics.

As to what he did there...  lol, you have really bad timing :

Turns out he was boosting his own business, not apple :)
