YOU'RE WRONG. It was the UTTER FAILURES of capitalism which OPENED the door to leftist SOLUTIONS.

YOU seem to have a problem identifying which came FIRST.

There's no such thing as Leftist solutions; just leftist nightmares.

Case in point:

Thanks for confirming you FAILED AMERICAN HISTORY. LMAO

You bring up an interesting point, racistsmith. In San Francisco, residents revel in the growing filth, destitution and crime as it spills over into their communities.

I'm just stunned that you people actually enjoy it.

No, that's just your poor comprehension skills talking again.

And here's a hint in life -  if you have to use phrases like "so what you're saying is" and then rewrite what they're saying... you're probably on the wrong side of the argument.    :)

It is  if that's all they have to eat. And it's coupled with 'assiging' housing. And controlling their medical services.  etc etc

Get it?  ROFLMAO!

Sorry kid - you're obviously too stupid for this particular conversation. Try again when we're talking about lego or comics or something :)

It's a simple fact - when you provide for a man's every need you enslave them.  Has that ever happened? yes.  But more to the point the degree to which you attempt to do so is the degree you're trying to control people

You'll understand when you grow up.

Nope you’re wrong on all counts and just spouting more of your gibberish. Try actually going to school amd then actually thinking about what you’re saying. Do you think anyone in a communist regime forced to live in assigned mouldy housing with paltry grain rations is is saying  “hooray my every need is satisfied”?

The cliche you’re mindlessly parroting refers to keeping people fat and happy, in “Communist”regimes they are skinny and miserable

stop being a dumbass

Yeah.  Go hungry and without shelter for a  while. You'll find having food and shelter even if it's basic suddenly seems like you have everything you need.

And you will be PETRIFIED of losing it.

A child like you who can't live 5 minutes without their cell phone wouldn't get that, but that's the way it is.

It does no such thing.

Sorry - you're just far too stupid for this conversation.  Maybe wait till we're discussing which flavour of skittles is best or something more your speed.

Sorry pal just because someone’s situation has improved but still miserable it doesn’t mean their “every need is met” and they’re willing to become slaves. Modest social benefits are not a sinister plot to enslave homeless people of that weee the case you would be opposed to charities as well,  right ?   And conservatives always want benefits for homeless veterans, why do you want to enslave veterans?

Humans have a wide variety of complex material, psychological and social needs: to be respected, to be loved, to have a purpose, to belong and be included, to be optimistic about their future, etc. They also have material needs beyond basic substandard shelter and subsistence rations. No government program provides for most, much less “every” one of those needs.

Of course it does.

You are confusing "need" with "Want".   I realize English is a challenging language but if you look it up you'll find that they are different words.  And people's desire to fill their needs starts with the basics, the desire to have an i-phone comes much much later and is no where remotely close to the need for things like food and shelter.

There was a guy named "Pavlov" who did some work on this :)

And as far as wants go or 'perceived needs'  it's extremely subjective.  If you have nothing and you're watching your family starve and freeze - having food, shelter, security from attack, clothes, warmth - basic basic things - will make you very happy and you will be very very afraid of losing it.

If it has been provided for you  - you will also tend to lose the knowledge and ability to provide it for yourself.

So if someone threatens to take it away ....  "if you don't vote for me then the other guy might not provide this.... "

And of course today that translates nicely into gov'ts making people dependent on services and things they provide then scaring them that the might go away.  The Carbon Tax is a genius example - take the poeople's money, drive up the cost of everything, then give them a little of their money back.  Pretty soon they think "I'm barely getting by - i NEED that gov't money".  They become dependent not thinking about the fact it's the gov't that's creating that dependency in the first place.

You are the kind of special !diot that thinks "look before you leap' means you should literally only look when you're leaping, and doesn't realize it applies to anything else :)   You are special stupid :)

I know the real definition. I am a socialist.

To a socialist the REAL definition is "whatever i want it to be at that moment if I think it'll help my argument" :)

I was making fun of how conservatives use the term.

Makes sense - Socialists ARE a bit of a joke after all :)

No, actually it's the runaway success of Capitalism that open the door to communism. Or more accurately market socialism.

It is the nature of capitalism that while everyone benefits and grows more wealthy, some will grow more wealthy than others.  And that opens the door for people to say "well - even tho i have the wealth i've earned, i should have their wealth too and if i had their wealth i could restructure our society the way i want. "

Communism and socialism models NEED wealth to steal in order to work and to sell, so  it needs capitalism to create the success and wealth first.
