Sobering photos show hundreds of migrants camped out in the streets of El Paso overnight Monday, as the Texas city’s emergency order went into effect in anticipation of the end of Title 42.

Looks like the democrats won't rest until the borders are completely dissolved.

No one forced them to come here, except the drug gangs which made their life HELL in Central America.

It is CONGRESS which has FAILED TO ACT for DECADES.

IF they didn't fail to act, cite the comprehensive immigration reform bill that was passed in the last 20 years

Did you not understand the clue? No comprehensive immigration reform bills PASSED in the last 20 years. Duh.

"Comprehensive" in this context has the stench of Barack Obama all over it, therefore, It's best to just kick that shit to the curb.

No, the best solution is to finish the wall, shoot intruders, and go on a nationwide search to gather up all illegals and their offspring and deport their asses.

Once we've cleaned up the mess, we can get back to handling visa requests and asylum seekers in a safe, controlled, environment.

Immigration "reform" in the past has usually included some form of amnesty for immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally.  Democrats have shifted their 90's "tough on crime" stance and associated border control policies (Bill Clinton), to Barack Obama and DACA.  The large labour unions (AFL-CIO) have shifted to embrace illegal immigration as it helps to swell their shrinking ranks.

A sovereign nation that cannot or will not protect its borders will cease to be sovereign by definition.

The problems the Americans have are exactly the same as Canada, as the UK, as the EU. We are all a victim of laws and treaties signed in the days following WW2. Those treaties and laws were aimed at the few people able to escape from behind the iron curtain. No one put a lot of thought into the wider world since it was far away and it wasn't likely people from most of the world would be able to get to America or Europe anyway.

But those treaties were signed and passed into law and have become a part of the law in each of our nations. Those who say that the US should just put up a wall and shoot those who cross it know nothing about their own country's laws. The US can no more refuse to admit people claiming asylum than Canada can. Or the EU. The courts take the signing of the treaties on refugees as part of law once confirmed by parliament (in Canada) or ratified by the senate (in the US). So everyone who shows up and says the magic words has to be admitted and given a proper hearing.

The bureaucracy and legalisms in all of our western countries is complex and so bureaucratic that it takes years just to get a hearing.

Which means, if you want to refuse people at the border you need to repudiate the treaties, enforce borders against illegal entry, and change a few laws. So far, no country has done any of these things. That includes the United States. For decades, business interests, including unpleasant places like meat packing plants, fish plants and the like, and especially agriculture, have profited from cheap, migrant labor from Mexico. So Republicans have not been much interested in stopping it. Democrats haven't either because they used to see all racial minorities as future Democratic voters once the periodic amnesties come out. Now they're gripped by this weird anti-nationalism and anti-racism that sees any attempt to stop the migration of 'brown people' as racism, and thus unforgivable.

And the fact Democratic and Republican voters have wanted it stopped for decades has had zero impact on either party. When Trump came out and said he'd do it that was a big part of the reason a lot of people gave him a try. Only he didn't do anything about the laws - or much of anything for the first two years when Republicans had control of House and senate. He only started to complain about it after that because he could blame the Democratic House for not going along.

You want to end the migrations, change the bloody laws. Or quit whining.

It just means Texans will have to spend more tax dollars to ship those animals to Chicago, Washington and NYC.

I agree. Had Congress grown a brain and FINISHED THE DAMNED WALL, those animals wouldn't even have considered violating our borders.

There WAS a VERY comprehensive immigration reform bill. It was called the TRUMP WALL. It would have solved the problem at  a FRACTION of the cost.

What those animals have cost this country, in welfare scams, violent crimes, etc that money could have built TEN walls.

BLAME NAZI PELOSI.

It would make zero sense for labor unions to embrace illegal immigration, because undocumented workers are paid sub-scale wages.  The AFL-CIO has a clearly documented platform regarding illegal immigration:

Not true for many sectors (e.g. farm labour) and regions:

National labor unions in the United States have formally supported undocumented immigrants since 2000.

...In recent decades, organized labor has demonstrated several—often contested—forms of solidarity with immigrant rights. As unions now see immigrant rights as integral to the struggle of workers and their organizations, the DACA and DAPA programs offered them important opportunities to build solidarity with undocumented workers.
