The benefits of colonialism

You can’t go forward without acknowledging the wrongs of the past and reconciling with those who suffered at the hands of the government at the time.

Reconciling is a two way street.  I look at what Canada has done to reconcile and it is MUCH.  But it feels like the first nations are turning it into an industry to last forever.

they claim the people who never went to the school are also victims due to 'generational suffering'. So basically this lasts forever.

So how is reconciliation possible? We just pay each generation a big whack of money forever? That seems to be the plan.

The kids who really suffered under the res school are dead.  THe handful that are alive who attended the last schools did not suffer like that nor was it mandatory

At some point it has to end. Or it's not redressing the sins of the past at all

These schools took Indigenous children aged 5 to 16 from their homes and communities and separated them from their culture. Speaking First Nations’ languages was against the rules and the schools often had poor living conditions. Many children were underfed. Many became ill.

The Indigenous children had to be removed from the backward, barbarian culture and taught how to live in white man's world.  The world has been changing for centuries and something had to be done so they could survive.

There were some bad consequences such as poor living conditions, but we do not know the extent of it.  It may be overblown in order claim endless compensation.

Funny you have not offered any solution on what could have been done instead.  There was nothing else that could be done.  Of course they had to learn to speak white man's language, English or French, in order to get a job and survive.

Aboriginals had a different idea of work, and life and that had to be changed in order to survive.   People did feel they need to help aboriginals and that was what it was all about.

The reason FNs are in such a sad state is because they were not fully and properly integrated and assimilated.  They cannot be fully supported by taxpayers forever.  Many of them are unemployed, on alcohol and drugs, and committing suicide.  It is a dire situation in many reserves.  Poor housing in many places, poor water, and lack of services.  The reserve idea may have been a mistake, but of course they wanted their own property where they could live and govern themselves to some degree.  It has not worked very well.

You can condemn helping them as "assimilation" but that was what was necessary to help them.

I don't think colonialism is either good nor bad, any more than a shark is bad and a deer is good. They are both part of nature..

Winners can rationalize anything.

If you search Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations, which has been in Project Gutenberg since 2001, you will find that he used the word 'education' Eighty Times. If you search it for "and account" you will find multiple instances of "read, write and account". But in 1776 50% of Brits were illiterate. Suggesting mandatory accounting in the schools that did not exist for the masses would have been absurd.

How many homeless White people are there in the United States? I watched a YouTube video about homeless in Australia a few days ago. Double entry accounting was invented in Italy 700 years ago. Why isn't it regarded as part of European culture?  But I had to take 4 years of English literature and compare Romeo and Juliet to West Side Story. I don't even know if my high school had an accounting course at the time.

You haoles have spread your economic wargame culture around the planet and you don't explain it properly to your own kids. The majority of palefaces are supposed to be pawns and losers being used by the super rich.

One nitwit socialist told me that he objected to mandatory accounting in the schools because the math would make Capitalism seem logical to the students. He claimed to be a high school teacher.

I never mentioned "winners." I merely suggested the fact that Capitalism, Colonialism, and the daily practice of humans taking a SHIT is something that exists in NATURE. Economics is all about HUMAN ACTION. It is the ONLY science of HUMAN ACTIVITY that is 100 percent accurate. And the number one treatise in Economics was authored by THIS genius economist.

You sound like one of those elitists who want to hold SOME humans to higher standards than others. You obviously had VERY poor history lessons if you have come to such a narrow and naive view.

Human history is brutal.  Animal history is brutal. EARTH history (with it's natural climate changes that rendered an entire species of dinosaurs  EXTINCT) is brutal. Trying to hold TODAY'S enlightened humans to the standards of the barbarians of even 200 years ago is stupid.

Hell, when I was in school a computer cost a million dollars, filled up an entire room, and didn't have the computing power of a a modern day cell phone. When I first started substitute teaching, any computers for kids to learn on were those primitive desktop models and progress was slow. Today, school kids as young as the THIRD GRADE do lessons on INDIVIDUAL CHROMEBOOKS that have more computing power than the unit used on the Apollo 11 moon landing. These kids get assignments from Google Classroom.

Hell, one of the most intelligent American presidents (Thomas Jefferson) was transported around his environment on horses. Imagine his shock if he were put behind the wheel of a modern car (that even ignorant left wing goose steppers are able to learn how to drive).

You have to think of humans in terms of their place in history. You can't hold them accountable for the actions of those who have been dead and buried for centuries. That's just plain IGNORANT.

So as soon as I perfect my virus that only kills White people and release it I can use you and Mises to justify my actions. LOL
