I have no quarrel with your opinion, you are entirely welcome to it

No worries. I'm not upset. Opposing opinions are welcome. That's one of the best ways to learn things.

And look...we managed to disagree without all the name-calling and shit.

A Libbie could learn from this exchange...

well I will concede that I am inherently pro-immigrant

because I am British

so I am want to make the world British

thus I am always looking for recruits to fill the ranks

if they are culturally insensitive at first, that's okay

because their children will be British in the end

if anybody is trying to stop them from being British

it is Americanized leftists born in Canada and raised by the Communists to hate their own kind

Not big on denying my own senses.

small sample sizes can be misleading

selection bias is a helluva drug

whether those sample sizes come from your own senses or not

your perspective is limited

yet you judge on anecdote as if your experience is representative of the general experience

it might be, but without other evidence to back it up,

assuming it is, is just intellectually lazy

you having a bad experience with immigrant service workers does not mean all or most are like that

specific to general fallacy

"a bad experience"

Not "a" but a pattern of poor service.

Why would you have anyone deny their own senses?

your pattern might not match the pattern

your experience is not necessarily the general experience

I get that you don't understand logic and think your perspective trumps everything

but your world is not the world and confusing the two leads to faulty assumptions

"might"...is the operative word here.

I have my opinion...you have yours.

Muddying the waters with BS also leads to faulty assumptions. Been a lot o' that happening of late.

well when you have nothing to back your opinion but your own opinion

you should be less sure of your conclusions

than when you have non-anecdotal evidence to back up your anecdotal experience

you act like you can be just ad sure either way

but that is not the case

whoop dee doo, Basil

opinions based solely on anecdotal evidence are to be taken with a huge grain of salt

it's fallacious thinking

'Don't trust your senses. Trust what we tell you.'

No thanks.

projecting your experience on the world with no evidence to back it

leads to faulty analysis

if you want to go on your feelings about a small size instead of logic using a larger sample size

be my guest

but doing so makes your arguments weak and purely subjective

without even a hint of objectivity
