Faramir Posted February 1, 2022 Report Posted February 1, 2022 9 minutes ago, Michael Hardner said: So there were 3 major parties in the 1933... national socialists, socialists and communists. So nobody wanted anything right-wing it seems. And yet a pro-military anti-Jewish anti-freedom party that favoured law and order and rewarded capitalism somehow emerged How ... odd ? Little more complicated than that. What was put in place was a business community beholden to marching orders from the Fuhrer. Hence a fascist system of government. It was not some small business rewarding capitalist paradise. Meaning fascism and communism are on the same side of the freedom spectrum. Sort of like the Mensheviks vs the Bolshevists vs the Trotsky faction. The Jew angle was simply a culmination of century old anti-Jew hatred that still exists today taken to its natural conclusion. Even today the allies like GB are Jew haters. Quote

You mean the power gap that exists between rich liberals and their institutions from average hard working Canadians? Or the liberal political class that is far removed from the working poor? The only time the left embraces the poor is to drive a wedge between political opponents. yes you are right to your second assertion. The Catholics obsessed with their king were to blame for France's conditions. Problem is the French Republic that came out of it was worse than was before. Thank God the hero like the Duke of Marlborough defeated that little tyrant Napoleon. Quote

No, exactly what I said, strictly the gap between power and powerlessness. Unless I'm mistaken conservatives refer to this gap or state as an unchanging inevitability that's due to something often referred to as natural law. In a political system, any system at all, the result appears to have been the same - the development of innies and the outies and a struggle between the two that results in a often violent revolution. I think progressive people have a little more faith in the ability of human's to change our nature and break this cycle whereas conservatives don't. Why do they also feel the need to actively resist though, do conservatives view themselves as some force of nature or something? Especially in government. But it exists elsewhere as well. In the USA it is the establishment and its willing allies. That often means Wall Street and progressives against hard working Americans. Yes because no one gives a rip as long as you can buy something for $1.25 at a dollar store. Frankly I think trade with China has made us poorer. Take the year 1975. Since then wages have not kept up to living costs. Yes, I can get a nifty computer phone for cheap, but you can't eat a iphone. Back then one person worked, and that person and the kids all had a car in the drive way. And savings. Yes we have better programming and better gadgets but I would go back to 1975 in a heart beat. 1 Quote
