NAFTA will not be on Trump's priority list for the moment as his organization is being subpoenaed to turn over all documents....he is sweating that they will find the payments to Russian hooker Ivana Peeonu.

Nothing illegal about payments to Russian (or Canadian) hookers....or American porn stars.   In Vancouver, they are called "sex workers".

Why do you say they are dancing? And what dance are they performing?

They are performing the U.S. border crossing dance, visiting the U.S. many, many times to beg for NAFTA support from Americans.

Trudeau has visited the U.S. fifteen times so far as prime minister....President Trump has yet to visit Canada once, because he doesn't need to.   Maybe for the G-7 meeting in June, if he feels like it ?

So? I don't understand what point you are trying to get across.  This is what Canada needs to do.

Trump knows he is not welcome to Canada.....and Trudeau goes to get some from Ivanka

Ivanka Trump and Justin Trudeau at a roundtable discussion at the White House on Monday.

The point is obvious....Trump promised to force NAFTA to be renegotiated or the U.S. will leave, as provided for in the agreement after six months notice.

Trudeau (and Freeland) can only react to Trump (i.e. "dance").  Dance in Washington D.C., dance in New York, dance in California, dance...dance...dance.

Why is Canada so dependent on exports to and capital investment from a single nation (United States) ?    Trump would be doing Canada a favour by forcing more export market  diversification.

Yes, we get Trump is forcing negotiations and his ignorance of international trade is something we have to work with.  Canada is holding their own in these negotiations.

The point is that Trump promised to force this issue, and he is the leader, not Trudeau/Freeland, who can only react (dance to Trump's tune).

Trudeau will always be playing defense, because he dare not express the option to walk away from NAFTA.

Canada handled themselves pretty well with the TPP negotiations.  Canada wasn't afraid to walk away until we got the right deal.

Trump's name still rides high on a Vancouver hotel complex.

Is this the Trump tower you are referring to?

CNN reported that members of the Trump family, including Ivanka Trump, are under investigation by the FBI in connection to the building in downtown Vancouver.

Then walk away from NAFTA....show Trump that Canada doesn't need it.   That is Trump's game, but Trudeau doesn't have as much leverage.

50% of Ontario's exports are dependent on  a single nation.....the United States.

Quote

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took a tough line on NAFTA on Friday, repeating that he could walk away if he was not happy with talks to modernize a pact the United States contends needs major changes.

"The negotiations are complex and challenging ... I've said many times, we are not going to take any old deal," Trudeau told a sometimes raucous town hall event in the Pacific province of British Columbia. "Canada is willing to walk away from NAFTA if the United States proposes a bad deal."

"We will not be pushed around. At the same time we can remain confident about NAFTA," he said, adding that if Washington walked away from the deal it would be "extremely harmful and disruptive" to both the United States and Canada.

Trudeau said he did not think U.S. President Donald Trump would pull out of NAFTA, despite slow progress at the talks.

Agreed....whatever...as this question will always go unanswered:

Maybe cause we are playing the US  like a fiddle...

‘Brutal’ Canada has ‘outsmarted our politicians for decades,’ Trump says

I bet he ain't sweating much, he'll find a way to squirm out of this one. I really can't understand why the MSM is so fixated on these things, it has nothing to do with running the country.

Geography, convenience, and basic math.
