If it becomes a legal order, they will obey it. That's what the military does. Trump will then have to deal with the courts because people will not take this laying down. There are decorated transgendered special forces vets who put the lie to his bullshit. I expect he will just let this die.

You might be right about him letting it die, since no real order has yet been given. Time will tell. About the courts, I'm not 100% sure but the military has its own separate courts. I am aware that in Canada the DND is somewhat autonomous from the same government oversight that the rest of the country comes under.

Trump supporters come from the low IQ areas of the US, but even they decided to vote his way to get those promised rust belt jobs back. So they held their nose and voted. Too bad for them.

Trump supporters matter a lot more to you than you matter to Trump supporters.

Stay glued to Trump's twitter feed "because it matters so much".

It only "matters" because it's such a f'ing calamity. Frim this side of the border it's just fun, and face palms. But he's your boss, that would make it scary for thinking people.

Your reasons for paying so much attention to a foreign politician are your own.

President Trump doesn't owe you or Canada anything.

And as the current sanctions bill against Russia soars so high over Trump's head, I'm thinking I'd like to be on a party line when Putin calls Trump to scold him.

Strange comment coming from you of all. JT doesn't owe you or the US anything either.

That's fine by me....maybe Trudeau will stop bugging us for all of his broke dick problems.

It's not Trump's job to babysit Canadian jihadi war criminals.

Yet another flimsy attempt to deflect. And what is this "broke dick" idea. We'll all get some popcorn.

You have no other choice, so dependent are Trudeau's broke dick resources on Trump's America.

President Trump has put the hurt back into "butt-hurt" for Trudeau and Freeland.

Well the popcorn's good, but your explanations are rather frail. So we're still waiting to hear about "butt hurt and broke dick" It sounds like like  you get a kick out of the wording though. I won't ask the obvious question. The "platform" is yours.

Everything broke dick in Canada is not Trump's or America's problem.   Solve problems without worrying so much about Trump's tweets or actions on climate change, NATO deadbeats, jihadi war criminal payoffs, refuge in American media puff pieces, NAFTA beatdowns, softwood lumber circle jerk, border crashing refugees, pedestrian killing astronuts, the price of oil, or faster access to the U.S. border.

If Trump and America suck so much, seek true love elsewhere.

We don't worry so much as we laugh. If anybody should be worried it's you. He's your joke of a potus after all.

That's the whole point...Trump is our president...not yours.   He is the product of U.S. politics and power.  The same U.S. that your economy and military is so dependent on.

Just because your broke dick government is led by a socialist globalist doesn't mean that the U.S. has to follow.   Most Americans don't know or give a damn what happens in Canada, but people like you keep your nose pasted to the window on the border to see what the Americans are doing 24/7.

Trudeau says it's because for Canada, the U.S. "matters so much".    That's your problem...not mine.

What percentage of the population are transgender?

For transgender people, on average, what are annual health costs?

=======

As a Canadian, I understand the idea of respecting the rights of a minority. But even our Charter of Rights uses the term "... sufficient to warrant the provision...".

But Canada, US, minorities - maybe that's a debate for a different thread.

You can google that info. It's negligible IMO, just a stupid excuse, a distraction from the fact that the Trump presidency is in a major meltdown.

We hope.

But we don't care really.

It's just entertainment.

Actually, it's not easy to google.  Every article relies less on facts and more on making their case.  I've heard $2-8million per year, I've heard 10K-150K for surgeries.  I've heard estimates on how many trans people there are and what they would ask from the military.

However, at an average amount of transgenders, $2-8Million wont even pay the medications and hormones they require.  The estimates quote the lowest amount of people, that the pollsters think are wanting sex change operations and quote only minor surgeries.  Google is glutted by left wing articles committed to downplaying and giving the low end of everything.

The fact is; just to prepare for sex reassignment surgery costs thousands, not to mention lost production while the person is preparing for surgery.  The surgery itself is costly, the recovery time, ,physio, rehabilitation, the meds, hormone treatments, more lost production and the time off to experiance their new body.  Then we get to councelling for the person and sensativity training for the entire military and probable retraining of the individual.

Now, you'll surely refuse to accept any of this because the Huffington Post will downplay any obvious cost and leave out all the indirect costs, but if you've ever had or know of any reconstructive surgery, common sense tells you that the numbers given are staggeringly low.

P.S - Nearly 40% of transgenders are suicidal, so there's that issue/cost as well.  Combine that with the suicide rate of military and veterans, and it just seems like a bad combination.

Eight mil you say. That's less than half of what it cost for Trump's weekend trips to Mara Lago during his first 100 days, less than a tenth of what the military spends on erectile disfunction and less than a quarter of what they spend on Viagra alone.

Screwing them around like this is guaranteed to make trans members of the military less suicidal.

It can become more than that, if it sets a trend that other nations follow.

That just depends on how fed up people are with the current direction. Trump was a surprise, so was Brexit, both of those were emotional reactions. Trump is like a bull in a china shop, his every utterance smashing the boundaries of political correctness. It shocks some people, but inspires others.

I do think Trump and Brexit have woken people up, hence the rejection of the far right in the French election and the decreasing popularity of the far right in Germany, making another win by Merkel more likely.

It's not the far-right we should want, nor the far-left for that matter. One has to appreciate the need for reasonable balance, something we've lost sight of these days it seems. Without it you get a buildup of resentment, pressure leading to explosive counter-reaction. Both sides of the political spectrum are guilty of taking the debate to extremes.

Trump and the Brexiters don't represent an even balance, they are just opportunists taking advantage of that resentment.
