Why is the universe here?

Why are we here?

How do you answer that?

We don't, yet.  We keep trying though.   Eventually, we might.

We don't make it up, though.

With science.

You have a better method?

You bet I do.

SCIENCE

Used in every circumstance where its use is warranted. People who say they believe in science can't be called believers in science when they take a stand that they can pick and choose when to be "with science".

Science is used to prove and disprove so it can be used in every realm, every situation. What do we go to as a society to investigate and prove all things?

And yet, you have done this very thing...selectively choosing which science to believe, and even more damning, which American science you choose to believe.  That's two strikes...in an American game called baseball.

A drowning woman, clutching at straws. Science isn't owned by America. That's a childish notion.

Maybe it isn't.

Why are we here?

Maybe we're not. What if we're in a parallel universe and the other universe is the real thing and we're just copying what it does.

Religious people tell me much the same thing when it comes to morality.

I go to my BS filters when religion and science fail to satisfy. I'm not a scientist so I kind of have to take science on faith and my cue to its veracity from my fellow human beings. Yes, I realize I'm probably committing some horrible academic/scholistic fallacy that automatically destroys my layman credibility but it is what it is.

In any case and as I said earlier the greatest hurdle I have to overcome in the 9/11 thing is my inability to believe the US government is remotely competent enough to be involved in such a stunt without cocking something up and blowing its cover. No deathbed confessions, no wikileaks, no trail of emails, no whistleblowers...nada, zilch.

That is what really defies reason the most.

You don't have to be a scientist to do scientific reasoning. If you were to apply your BS filters, I say 'were' because I understand the pressure everyone is under to avoid the unmentionable 'thing', to the science, they would be flashing red, blowing sirens, causing mini brain explosions, ... .

The following is strictly VERBOTEN! I cannot comment here upon pain of death.

And this has even seriously affected you, eyeball, an independent thinker.

Why is, "Gee, that's really weird, we should discuss that"; "That can't be possible, we should have another look see" out of the realm of possibility for this one topic?

No, it just illustrates what I have described in another thread. The huge pall, the cloak of silence that everyone feels and obeys, completely, Komrade!

Well, it sounds like you just said you can't name names because you might be killed so...who's the Komrade here again?

I'm the coward, remember?

No, I didn't suggest anything near that malevolent would happen to me. You can speak the ---- word but I can't.

Yes, I do remember that you are just one of the many cowards. And it shocks me so, as I have mentioned, given you seem to be an independent thinker.
