Argus
This started as a status update but after 35 back and forth replies in under an hour I decided it ought to be discussed in more depth. Tonight, Trudeau, clearly referencing Trump's ban on refugees, decided to get into doing controversial tweets himself. "To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith. Diversity is our strength #WelcomeToCanada," Not only is this grossly stupid in that we have the example of what Merkel's open arm policy for refugees has done to all of Europe, basically tearing about the EU, not to mention the crime and violence and the cost of tens of billions to Germany, but it's clearly aimed at the very thin skinned Donald Trump. It's an implicit criticism of him, if not an outright taunt. This at a time when Canada is trying to stay under the radar and not get the notoriously temperamental Trump angry at us. AP) - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has a message for refugees rejected by U.S. President Donald Trump: Canada will take you. http://www.wgrz.com/news/canadian-pm-trudeau-sends-welcome-tweet-to-refugees/394143789
?Impact
Only the clueless, and extremely partisan, would suggest that this means that limits as to numbers do not exist. This was clearly a response to Donald Trump and his attack on Muslims.

I have no intention of getting in your way re: your personal quest to become one with Islam. It's wanting ALL of us to join you that is causing the issues. Saudi Arabia is that way, Muslim. ----->

What this was was clearly that Justin Trudeau couldn't restrain his desire to show how smugly progressive he was, without regard to what affect that might have with the temperamental Trump. It was juvenile.
Argus
Note that the cite I gave was from an NBC station off the AP wire. Other American media will be running with it too. So it's quite likely Trump will read it.

It was juvenile. It was nothing of the sort. Trump's policies have been countered over the last few days by a plethora of countries, from China to Mexico to Denmark to Canada and Scotland. This administration has thus far been an unmitigated disaster in a way that I had never predicted.
Argus
As I've posted earlier, " A recent report by the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) estimates that each refugee claimant who has their application rejected by the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), due either to lack of evidence of persecution in their home country or failing to show up to refugee hearings, costs the Canadian government over $50,000." Given Trudeau has removed the visa requirements for Hungary and Mexico, which each produced tens of thousands of phony refugees each year, and given this open invitation to refugees to come here, I think we can expect the number of applicants to soar in the coming months.
