jacee Posted May 13, 2016 Author Report Posted May 13, 2016 (edited) Amazing in 2016 we still have people attacking women for wanting to do things other than just cooking, laundry and raising children. You are way out of line.If she's concerned about her three kids and husband, she needs to listen to herself and learn to say no. We don't pay her to do anything so we have no right to expect her to do anything. If she's chosen to do more than she's comfortable with, she needs to change her choices. We all try to keep that balance. She has choices. . Edited May 13, 2016 by jacee Quote

Spiderfish Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 Oh, you were trying to be funny by making fun of her. I get it. Hilarious. I can imagine your reaction if someone made fun of Laureen. Laureen would have been pilloried if she had of made an embarrassing spectacle of herself that way...and it would have been well-earned criticism. Who do these people think they are? Good grief. If no one is going to tell her she can't sing, I would be in favor of getting her some singing lessons at taxpayer expense. Quote
jacee Posted May 13, 2016 Author Report Posted May 13, 2016 Why should she have to say no if she doesn't want to? The similar role in the US (though not directly equivalent)is a function that is recognized and well funded. She's not funded. She's not required to do everything she's asked. She needs to learn to say no. . Quote

jacee Posted May 13, 2016 Author Report Posted May 13, 2016 "Amazing in 2016 we still have people attacking women for wanting to do things other than just cooking, laundry and raising children." Nobody's attacking her for wanting to do those things. That's just your left-wing viewing lens skewing what was really said. Maybe if she wants to do those things she should do it on her own dime/time rather than the taxpayer's. She's not on the taxpayers' dime or time. She's free to do what she wants ... like Laureen Harper did. . Quote

jacee Posted May 13, 2016 Author Report Posted May 13, 2016 If Harpers wife acted like this the whole media would be all over her. Harper was only 2 yrs older then trudeau and the maturity level is so low when it comes to the trudeau's. I guess that is why they took Justin's mother and the in-laws top Washington for a state dinner. Laureen Harper was good at saying "no". . Quote
-1=e^ipi Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 (edited) Why does it have to be that way? Because they aren't elected. If Sophie Trudeau were an MP or were an CEO or something, then by all means be in the public spotlight. Or maybe I should put it this way: I think the spouse of the pm should be as visible as they would be if their spouse were not the pm. Edited May 13, 2016 by -1=e^ipi Quote

Like applying to a job, getting it due to qualifications (well I guess sometimes due to race/sex quotas) and then they work to keep their jobs (well actually a lot of civil servants are lazy, but whatever). Marrying someone isn't merit. If I marry someone who is currently employed by statistics Canada, does that mean I should now be employed by statistics Canada, or require that statistics Canada hire 2 state funded nannies for me?
