Yup, land of the best armed criminals and psychos on the planet.

Absolutely....but it's not like there is a shortage of Americans. Well over 320,000,000 last time I checked. Bound to be some perps and crazies in that large a group.

Please see the 18th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution (Prohibition), and the 21st Amendment, which repealed the "catastrophic" 18th.

Not the War on Drugs?

Perps and crazies everywhere, you just make sure yours are the best armed.

So did Prohibition. We made a fortune off both.

A 2nd American Civil War would be a real boost to our manufacturing sector.

Can you show me that rewriting the laws would be catastrophic

Why do you think that if a law is worded differently criminals will start obeying them?

The trouble is that rewriting them will cause the 2nd American Civil War and likely the deaths of 1.3 million more Americans.

No need for civil wars. The Supreme Court has already ruled. Several times.

Thank you....we are very proud of our U.S. Constitution.

We're proud of ours to and extremely relieved the people who wrote it were wise enough not to include the equivalent of your second amendment.

Well, to be fair, ours was written a wee bit earlier than yours under trying conditions. I have socks that are older than Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Maybe so but it was also written in an era of smoothbore, flintlock, muzzle loaders. I doubt the people who wrote it intended it to be interpreted and abused the way it has. I could be wrong but I don't think so.

It was written when slavery was legal in Canada and the U.S. as well, but the basic concepts prevailed regardless of advances in technology.

Laws will never be re-written as long as the NRA is involved.

Why do you think re-writing laws won't protect kindergarten children from being gunned down?

And you have kindergarten children who were gunned down far earlier than your socks have unravelled.

Most slaves in Canada were held by First Nations, the rest were from the US, none were brought directly from Africa. Anyway, you managed to deal with the slavery issue, albeit at the cost of a million or so white lives. Not so successful with the gun part.

So it's OK to gun down teens and adults ?

Yes, of course it is. Duh!

Not sure what's so special about "white lives", but thanks for underscoring the point of how much it would cost to take away gun rights from law abiding citizens.

I just don't get these shootings happening and nothing seems to be happening to address it.
