Ah ha ha.

you've already told me the definition isn't broad enough so why bother?

Yeah: because you consider it invalid. because...well, you never really bother with that part.

I don't consider it a necessarily valid sociological concept.

Appearance as an indicator of other traits, not appearance qua appearance .

That's true.

That's bullshit. How could I say that about something I've not seen?

Yeah I got that. But you've never bothered to explain why. You just dismiss it out of hand.

You said it about the definition of racism. If I provide you with the definition of race what will that do?

I don't subscribe to the liberal theory of the racist boogey man. I don't know what else to say about it.

You said it about the definition of racism.

And with good reason. I am leery of any attempt to boil complex ideas down to soundbites whether its racism itself or the very concept of race.

If I provide you with the definition of race what will that do?

It would give some substance to your argument. You've spent an inordinate amount of time quibbling about the definition of race in this thread and others. AFAIK, you have never provided one yourself. I know: I've looked.

You seem to have lost the thread. We were talking about race as a social construct, not the theory of systemic racism. They are related, but independent concepts. I can understand why people might take issue with the latter, but questioning the existence or validity of the former as you have is unfathomable.

Lol it's funny watching Black Dog and cybercoma twist themselves into knots with the logically self-contradictory, untenable ideas of what racism is.

Treating everyone the same regardless of their race... the new racism. Scratch that... everything is racism.

It would be funnier if it wasn't so sad that so many people on the left really think this way.

And I can't wait to see your devastating takedown which is coming any day now, I'm sure. I mean, otherwise, this is just a pathetic drive by post by some try hard desperate to add his two cents to a debate he wasn't involved in.

I think the day is coming and probably not too far off when racism takes a back seat to the gulf of hatred that's yawning between left wing and right wing.

Being white means you have the privilege to be colourblind because your race is never used against you in our society. People of colour don't have that privilege. Those who shout about ignoring race are actually ignoring the very problems they think they're solving. It's like telling a patient to just ignore the bleeding and they'll be fine.

There's going to be a problem telling the left from the right on the barricades.

Lots of people on the left believe in selfish bourgeosie concepts like owning property.

Lots of people on the right believe in commie plots like universal access to education and health care.

Will identifying armbands be enough to distinguish your enemy or will we need facial tattoos as well?

It shouldn't be too hard. Just look for the unhappy people who are complaining about low gas prices at the pump, apparently they hate having extra money in their pockets and prefer being poor.

You are obviously on the far right. Poor people are on the left and do not have cars, and don't need gasoline.

I'll be the guy with the Molotov nametag filling beer bottles with gasoline at the pumps.

A rather ironic statement when you consider that you are one who advocates a Carbon tax that will remove money from everyone's pockets while doing nothing for the environment.

I'd rather see a War on Terror tax levied on oil company profits.
