bush_cheney2004 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Gee...why are so many Canadians buying firearms and ammo at U.S. gun shows ? Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
On Guard for Thee Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Gee...why are so many Canadians buying firearms and ammo at U.S. gun shows ? Gee, they can do that all they want, long as they stay south of the border. Quote
Derek 2.0 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Yeah right. Ever tried to buy a gun in the US? I have, easy peasy. Go to a gun show is one of the easiest ways. I could have been Charlie Manson, wouldn't have mattered. If you are going to put the NRA in charge of gun safety you may as well hire a fox to guard the henhouse. So again, you admit to breaking US Federal and State laws..........I remember your tale of pirate hunting, should we revisit it? Quote
Derek 2.0 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Gee, they can do that all they want, long as they stay south of the border. There's no need, its perfectly legal to purchase firearms from the United States when going through legal channels........ Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) So again, you admit to breaking US Federal and State laws..........I remember your tale of pirate hunting, should we revisit it? LOL! Oh...the irony ! Let's go cross border shopping in the U.S. for GUNS !! Edited October 29, 2014 by bush_cheney2004 Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
On Guard for Thee Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 So again, you admit to breaking US Federal and State laws..........I remember your tale of pirate hunting, should we revisit it? Sure. Could have bought whatever I wanted in the gunshop in Florida with nothing more than a DL. Quote
Derek 2.0 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 LOL! Oh...the irony ! Let's go cross border shopping in the U.S. for GUNS !! Indeed he admits it here well demonstrating his knowledge gleamed about firearms from Blackwater too boot!!!! We better back off, we're messing with hybrid John Wayne/Chuck Norris/Rambo here Quote
Derek 2.0 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Sure. Could have bought whatever I wanted in the gunshop in Florida with nothing more than a DL. But you clearly stated here: I think the kit was about 150 bucks, and no they wouldn't be allowed in Canada. And I didn't buy a gun to take to Canada, I got one to take on my sailboat into the Carribean as there were lots of pirate stories going around. You stated you did purchase a gun........to fend off pirates no doubt!!!! Quote
On Guard for Thee Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 But you clearly stated here: You stated you did purchase a gun........to fend off pirates no doubt!!!! Maybe you heard about it, piracy among sailboaters in the Bahamas? Quote
cybercoma Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) Gun deaths have been declining in the United States since the 70s........ Some cold comfort for the families and friends of the 86 people killed everyday by guns in the US. Edited October 29, 2014 by cybercoma Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 But great comfort for members here who like to use American gun homicides/suicides to downplay domestic terrorism in Canada. It makes them feel better...I guess. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
eyeball Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 (edited) I don't know if you've ever owned any pre-68 guns without serial numbers, but for those that did, the CFC sent out stickers to the owners to put on so as to identify the guns..... That's why guns should be fitted with GPS chips. Then we could have alarms could go off when guns are transported without prior notice and permission into or near a gun free area, like a school. Guns should be made safer. Edited October 29, 2014 by eyeball Quote I said now watch what you say they'll be calling you a radical, a liberal, oh fanatical criminal

On Guard for Thee Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Damn good idea. Been chips in cell phones forever, why not guns? Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Why didn't Canada do it for gun control....GPS is free from the Americans ! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
On Guard for Thee Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Well if you've got it, why not use it? Nobody needs it more than the US. Could save a LOT of lives. Quote
bush_cheney2004 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 There are already more than 225,000,000 guns in the U.S. that would have to be chipped. Most gun homicides are suicide...won't save them. Put GPS on knives in Canada ! Quote Economics trumps Virtue.

bush_cheney2004 Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Nope...nobody gets saved. Stop watching so many Hollywood movies. Quote Economics trumps Virtue.
jbg Posted October 29, 2014 Report Posted October 29, 2014 Well if you've got it, why not use it? Nobody needs it more than the US. Could save a LOT of lives.Somehow the police are going to be able to psych out whether the movement of a gun is a prelude to a rampage and move with alacrity? You've got to be kidding. You've got to be kidding. A 30-30 being taken into the parliament buildings or pistol into a high school might just be cause for some concern don't you think? The cops/guards don't really need to psych anything in such cases. Quote

Derek 2.0 Posted October 30, 2014 Report Posted October 30, 2014 Some cold comfort for the families and friends of the 86 people killed everyday by guns in the US. Perhaps, but as indicated, the number of people losing family members is decreasing........I should think that better then staying the same or increasing. Quote

Then we could have alarms could go off when guns are transported without prior notice and permission into or near a gun free area, like a school. Guns should be made safer. Good luck with that........first, as mentioned, there are millions of guns in North America, how do you propose installing said chips? Second, I doubt they could ever make a GPS chip and transponder that would withstand repeated ~2000+PSI shots....third, like guns with internal locks and now biometrics, people won't buy them......fourth 3D-guns make the entire concept moot, within ~ten years, anyone in the world with a 3D-Printer and an internet connection can make their own gun, sans GPS chips...... I haven't had the time to try and puzzle out how it might work. We do have gps technology though and I think there may be a way to put it to work for gun safety. Quote
