The Court of Law has no place in deciding these penalties. A Miami Dolphins Defensive lineman was arrested this weekend. He was immediately suspended by the team. Quote
Big Guy Posted October 15, 2014 Author Report Posted October 15, 2014 Dallas Cowboys reserve running back Joseph Randle was arrested for shoplifting from a suburban mall Monday night. Randle was charged with a misdemeanor Class B theft of $50 to $500, according to Frisco, Texas, police. He was released on writ bond at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday. Frisco Police Lt. Jason Jenkins said Randle is accused of attempting to steal underwear and cologne from Dillard's in Stonebriar Centre Mall. http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/11699736/dallas-cowboys-rb-joseph-randle-arrested-shoplifting Joseph makes about $500,000 a year and has only been arrested and not convicted. The NFL and a number of posters on this site agree with the NFL playing judge and jury and suspending and fining players. Should Joseph be suspended? Should he be fined? Should he be dropped from the team? Or maybe he should be dealt with by the judicial system of the USA and the State and the NFL should stick with football concerns! Boges Posted October 16, 2014 Report Posted October 16, 2014 (edited) The cologne was called "Guilty Black" This story is racist for some reason. Apparently he'll be fined a week's pay which comes to like $22,000. Edited October 16, 2014 by Boges Quote
Big Guy Posted October 20, 2014 Author Report Posted October 20, 2014 Now an NHL player has been suspended WITH PAY after being charged with domestic violence. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/nhl-suspends-kings-voynov-after-arrest-on-domestic-violence-charges/article21162316/ It will be interesting to see the resolution of this case where the players in this game get 2 minutes in the penalty box for pounding the hell out of someone during a game. Boges Posted October 21, 2014 Report Posted October 21, 2014 Avs goalie Semyon Varlamov was accused of domestic assault last season and I don't believe he was suspended. We're in a post Ray Rice world where if you're an athlete, you're guilty until proven innocent. There was a Florida Gators QB who was accused of sexual assault a few days after leading his team to a comeback win. He was immediately suspended but then the woman withdrew the charges but he still missed the following game. Quote

bush_cheney2004 Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) Wow...AP made headlines on the Ceeb too... http://www.cbc.ca/sports/football/nfl/adrian-peterson-suspended-for-rest-of-season-1.2838856 I think he is done as a Viking, because he is due about $14 million next year. AP needs to ratchet up the remorse, do his PSAs (public service announcements), and go to the Dallas Cowboys to finish his career. Oh...and get a vasectomy too ! Big Guy Posted November 29, 2014 Author Report Posted November 29, 2014 Judge just sided with Ray Rice on his appeal. He is now free to play. The Ravens have already sacked him so he must now be a free agent. Anybody want to guess who wants him and how much they are ready to pay? This could be a very interesting auction!!! Big Guy Posted November 29, 2014 Author Report Posted November 29, 2014 In Oct, Rice filed a suit against the Ravens for wrongful dismissal and the results of that may compensate him for lost time. The question now seems to be one of just how much "outrage" would result in some team signing Rice for the rest of this season. I think that The Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions and San Diego chargers could use his talent but would the advantages be greater than the possible distractions that would occur? Anyway, looks like NFL is happy, Ray and his wife are happy and everybody is happy - except those who feel that Ray should have been strung up for his left hook to his now loving wife. And they will all live happily ever after. Quote Note - For those expecting a response from Big Guy: I generally do not read or respond to posts longer then 300 words nor to parsed comments.

And they will all live happily ever after. For some reason this sounds like you are trivializing domestic violence. Let's remember his partner was knocked unconcious and could quite easily have died. The video showed a violent assault. Why didn't he have to serve time in prison? I just don't get it. Was it because he want on to marry her? Because he was a NFL player? Big Guy Posted November 30, 2014 Author Report Posted November 30, 2014 (edited) To trivialize domestic violence is not my intention. I do believe that the process proceeded properly to this latest point. He admitted that he did a bad thing and will not do it again. His wife said he did a bad thing and believes that he will not do it again. He will now continue to make $millions which he will share with his wife and family. They both appear to be satisfied with the process. The NFL seems to be satisfied with the process. The law seems to be satisfied with the process. Neither one of them appears to want to be examples or poster children for others who may have their own agenda. Good for them. That sounds all good and dandy to someone that knows nothing about domestic violence. He will repeat his actions and unfortunately his wife is a violent domestic survivor and will support her partner because of her victimization. This is what most people don't understand. Domestic violence has many complexities and unfortunately, your posts just simply sweep them under the carpet. Good for you. Big Guy Posted November 30, 2014 Author Report Posted November 30, 2014 I believe I do know something about domestic violence and that is why I posted what I did. What I do not have is the ability to peer into the future as to what these individuals may or may not do for or to each other. You obviously disagree and only time will tell which one of us is correct. For me, the most positive resolution to any problem is when everybody directly involved appear pleased with the result. That is how it appears to me. You seem dissatisfied by the resolution. What would you have liked to have been the resolution? He should have been charged and served time on violent assault charges. I can say with confidence that he will commit violence against his partner again. Let's hope that she doesn't die because of his violent tendencies. If you all want stats, I can provide those. He says it won't happen again and she believes him. Boges Posted December 1, 2014 Report Posted December 1, 2014 Regardless of how violent what Rice did was, the NFL didn't follow the proper procedures in their collective bargaining agreement by giving two different punishments for the same crime. Richie Incognito, who was the Lineman for the Miami Dolphins during last year's bullying scandal, is free to play in the league but no one will sign him. Ray Rice was seen by many to be on the downside of his career, so he may not be signed. Now in April when Adrian Peterson gets let back in he'll probably be signed. Quote
